Electronic / computer app die rollers

Do you allow players to use electronic / smart phone / mobile app die rollers at your gaming table, and please comment if so, why, and if not, why not. Thanks!

    D&D 5E (2014) Eberron Homebrew Thread!

Homebrew to my current Eberron adventure includes doing dragonmarks differently than in the Wayfinder's Guide (too different from 3.5 and complex they way they wrote them in the WGE) and I created my own version of the magewright NPC.

    D&D 5E (2014) Archetypes to add to 5e

I really think this topic needs to be move back to its original intent and get off of these judgmental/painting-all-with-one-brush statements.

D&D General Have Githzerai always been jerks?

Yes. But less so than Githyanki

    Constructive Criticism for Your GM

In my experience, there is no such thing as constructive criticism. There is criticism, but I have not found any criticism to be constructive, whether to me or to others around me. Rather, I think what is offered up here (and is better to think of rather than criticism) are more along the...

D&D General Which edition of D&D did you grow up with?

First game I played was basic D&D box set, circa late 1979. After that, I was introduced to AD&D 1e and went from there, playing fairly regularly during my later high school years and somewhat regularly during college (1e and 2e). I REALLY started taking an interest when 3e came out. I bought...

D&D 5E (2014) New Eberron Book Details From WotC

It's funny to me that some people mention using the Eberron book as source material for their Ravnica game because I have had the same thoughts ... IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION! In looking at the Ravnica campaign setting, I thought it contained several pieces of good material to swipe for...

    D&D 5E (2014) Archetypes to add to 5e

I know it seems more like a variant, but more official rules on an Urban Ranger would be nice, subclass or otherwise. I know many will say the Gloomstalker Ranger fits this role, but I do not completely agree. Others have mentioned a bounty hunter for the Rogue (or Ranger?) as a subclass...

    D&D 5E (2014) What's Your Table Look Like?

We pretty much use the same set-up. We have a large Chessex wet-erase mat and terrain tiles with miniatures. We like visuals, and it helps particularly when cover, moving through/around other characters, etc. comes into play.

D&D 5E (2014) Keith Baker announces Project Raptor!

As far as I am concerned, it will be much welcomed source material at my table, WotC official or not.

    D&D 5E (2014) New Spell: Vanish

This is reminiscent of the Pathfinder Vanish spell, which I happen to like. I agree with other posters that 1 minute is too long, and that it should be a lower level spell that lasts for a much shorter period of time (although 1 round seems almost too short), but should not require...

    D&D 5E (2014) KB Presents - In my Eberron

I like how you're thinking. I am going with this as the likely possibility.

    D&D 5E (2014) The Spy Game is a 5E-Powered Espionage RPG

Always love me a good "spy game". I have played Top Secret and Espionage in the long forgotten past. I wanted to play Spycraft when it came out, but could not get enough players interested. I like what I am seeing so far with this RPG.

D&D General The perfect D&D edition (according to ENWORLD)

To me, that would be a Scout, which is a Rogue archetype.

Ridding Elves and Half-Elves of Darkvision

I am adding a post here because this topic came up recently in my group. We found it difficult to reconcile how creatures of the outdoors and light would have darkvision. Clearly we came to the same conclusion: it's just a hold-over going back to 1st edition. As I got to thinking about this...

Sorry, my bad. I see what you meant now. That is a good suggestion.

Worlds of Design: The Core of the Adventure

I think you have pretty well broken down the possible hooks or plot points/devices that provide the impetus for creating an adventure. I have used 1 or more of most of these ideas in the adventures that I have run or created for my players. Sometimes combining these elements makes for a good...

Looking for good "against the cult" adventures - preferably urban

I recommend staying away from Tyranny of Dragons. Having played in the Hoard of the Dragon Queen, it is poorly written, way too long (unless you like that thing), and although it does have some urban sites during the adventure. It was written by a 3rd party, not WotC, and was released too soon...
