Or you don't want to infuse gunpowder in your medieval fantasy RPG you could change it from smokepowder to smoke powder and start an illicit drug smuggling ring with the Bregen D'aerth boys.
Sadly, you are right about this one. I had very high hopes for this adventure when it was first mentioned, but after giving a thorough read and seeing how it plays, I have to say I am rather disappointed. Why couldn't it have been an urban adventure about the players actually planning and...
Honestly, you're right, bard would be the most obvious choice. I used to not like them, either, but I have to admit they've grown on me quite a bit.
As an alternative, I like the urban ranger theme with an inquisitive.
An evil wizard I had in the Eberron campaign that I ran who was living on a deserted isle of animal-people and at war with a former partner/artificer who was on a nearby island. I modeled the wizard (Darwell Umbruskor) after Sean Connery (picture long-haired Sean from The Rock). The party loved...
I had a half-drow cleric/bard named Sammy. I modeled him after Sammy Davis, Jr. I only got to play him in a few gaming sessions before the whole group just quit.
There is not a direct connection to WDH. You can connect the 2 if you desire (easiest would be using the Spring scenario with Xanathar from WDH), but Mad Mage is not a direct sequel to Dragon Heist.
This is a good list, but not all of the choices are good, imo. I am not a fan of Hoard of the Dragon Queen. It is not well written and very rail-roady. I have read similar comments about the sequel: Rise of Tiamat. I think Tomb of Annihilation is very good, but it could take your group a...
As an added fun bonus, you could have the group hire a contractor who practically lives at the place, having to make constant repairs and never finishes or leaves (the ghost, perhaps?). Sort of like the Eldin Bernecky character from the original Murphy Brown TV series.
5000 gp. Pick a number.
"I'm a role-player, not a realtor, Spock!" :)
And if you want the moneylenders to be real jerks about it, you could have the interest compounded on a weekly or daily basis.;)
Whatever the market will bear. ;)
Seriously, if you want the moneylenders to be more on the generous side, I think 10% would be reasonable. If you want them to be more greedy, I would shoot for 25%.
Yes it would be broken. I understand the confusion about when the rogue has advantage in order to use sneak attack, but that damage really starts to add up in a hurry. Based on my experience, with Cunning Action, it really creates a power-killer in a hurry that outclasses everyone else, with...
I recommend the original Eberron adventure path that was published for v3.5 when the setting first came out. It is sometimes known as The Forgotten Forge adventure, as it starts with that adventure in the original Eberron Campaign Setting book.
The remaining list for that adventure includes...
In general: No.
But I can see (as evidenced by some of the examples in other posts in this thread) where one might allow a check of one or the other depending on the character and circumstance.
