I've got a problem here--the duration is too short. What good is it if it doesn't last through much of the sex act? This would have been fine before sex rounds were changed to 1 minute instead of 6 seconds.

One gripe: Only barrier-type contraceptives should have an effect on the chance of infection. Sperm/egg/implantation contraceptives would have no effect.

A 10th level in any combat class shouldn't have any problem with childbirth, period. In general I don't think they should have too much trouble anyway--a 10th level anything can take at least 4 times the abuse a com1 can--anything a com1 has a reasonable chance of surviving shouldn't be that...

Re: Reason I went with damage.... While I see your point I don't like rules that produce a result too far from reality. Com1's should be able to reproduce without dropping like flies. Yes, childbirth is risky but it's not like playing Russian Roulette.

I don't see that it's much of an issue. Anyone with magical healing is going to be able to heal damage and at least stabilize her even if they can't heal enough to bring her positive. In anything other than extreme conditions the birth can't do enough damage to send her below -10hp.

Re: Addendum to the pregnancy rules... It's still way too lethal, though. There's still plenty of women who don't make it to the hospital in time. Many of them would be Com1/Con 10's--yet a quarter of them don't die or even suffer any serious problems.
