  1. The Human Target

D&D 5E (2014) Clearly the biggest design flaw of 5e

I have Prime Dice on my tablet, to use if I for some reason don't have dice at hand. For game prep or general nerdiness, never during the game.
  2. The Human Target

D&D 5E (2014) Clearly the biggest design flaw of 5e

Yeah agreed. What's everyone's dice maximum= the amount of dice rolled at once that feels cool, but anymore gets to be a pain. Mine's 4.
  3. The Human Target

D&D 5E (2014) Clearly the biggest design flaw of 5e

We shall be enemies when the Great Dice Wars break out.
  4. The Human Target

D&D 5E (2014) Clearly the biggest design flaw of 5e

I'm kind of with your players. Something about the range of a d12 just makes it feel so unsatisfying. One of those weird feel things that you can't readily explain. I'd much rather go d10.
  5. The Human Target

D&D 5E (2014) Clearly the biggest design flaw of 5e

Rolling that many dice of any kind is a pretty big design flaw.

    D&D 5E (2014) Bard Spells

You automatically learn new spells when you level. You can flavor that however you want, but you don't have to do anything mechanically.
  7. The Human Target

D&D 5E (2014) Literacy and Languages in your game

Yeah language in a game is always gonna be goofy and unrealistic unless it's very complex. And is making it any more complex than it is really worth it? That said the OPs system looks fine.

    D&D 5E (2014) Why Would I Play a Ranger?

    A substance abuse problem?
  9. The Human Target

    D&D 5E (2014) Half Giant And Kreen(Darksun)

Half giant is crazy powerful, Thri-kreen is eh, both are awkwardly built.
  10. The Human Target

D&D 5E (2014) Reflecting on advantage and disadvantage.

Yeah I think there's a wide ground of design space between the simplicity of Advantage/Disadvantage and having a a huge amount of overlapping bonus/penalty counting.
  11. The Human Target

D&D 5E (2014) Reflecting on advantage and disadvantage.

I liked it in theory, but in play it's a very blunt tool.
  12. The Human Target

D&D 5E (2014) Along the lines of another post: What player RACES would you like to see added to 5e?

None. I don't want other people to enjoy themselves if their tastes differ from mine.
  13. The Human Target

    D&D 5E (2014) Race Brackets (2) Drow v. (3) Eladrin

The battle of two cool races some people hate for no reason!
  14. The Human Target

Now You Can Play With Vin Diesel's WITCH HUNTER Class!

It has that feeling of homebrew, but its got some cool ideas. I wish the Ranger had been modernized with some Witcher/Grey Warden stuff like this.
  15. The Human Target

D&D 5E (2014) Miniatures, or Theater of the Mind

The idea that ever mini needs to be an exact representation of what it stands or is a head scratcher. Minis, paper chits, dice, jelly beans, coins, pop cans, etc all serve the purpose of clarifying the scene and the make the mechanics easier to use. Who cares if you use a black dragon to...
  16. The Human Target

D&D 5E (2014) The "Lawful" alignment, and why "Lawful Evil" is NOT an oxymoron!

You guys just keep proving the unintuitive insanity of the alignment system. And the awesomeness of Doctor Doom.
  17. The Human Target

D&D 5E (2014) Enforcing theme/structure by saying NO to players

I mean I agree I hate those joke names, I'm just saying its always been a part of D&D from day one.
  18. The Human Target

D&D 5E (2014) Enforcing theme/structure by saying NO to players

Drawmij (Jim Ward backwards) Melf (Male Elf) (Medium) Rary Erac's Cousin Bigby, Rigby, Zigby, Digby, etc Yrag (Gary backwards)
