    D&D 5E (2014) Is WotC over-thinking the Ranger?

During my first read through of the PHB my first specific really negative reaction was to the Ranger. So no.

    D&D 5E (2014) How many fans want a 5E Warlord?

I guess I don't understand why these arguments are still going on. 4e fans= we aren't getting any more 4e in 5e. Accept it as I have and move on.

D&D 5E (2014) Just read Vengeance of the Iron Dwarf...

I was a true fan of his books when I was younger, but haven't reread the early ones in a long time. I stopped reading sometime during the orc war stuff. Salvatore has been pretty open about only continuing to wrote these books due to their popularity and boy does it show. I tried to read...

D&D 5E (2014) Dealing with a trouble player and a major blow up

This can't be real. Adults can't act like this. I roll to disbelieve!

D&D 5E (2014) How can warlock patrons teach things they don't know?

"Wait a second, is Dagon using Runequest rules!?"

    D&D 5E (2014) Dragonborn Interspecies Pregnancy

Whatever sounds fun to you! Dragons in D&D have a long tradition if breeding with everything, and so do most humanoids. Maybe a half breed Dragonborn is always just a Dragonborn? Or always a member of the other race with slight draconic features? But maybe Dragonborn are different? Maybe...

D&D 5E (2014) Dealing with a trouble player and a major blow up

You should find some sand and be an adult about it. Or you'll be back here complaining yet again. You have no one to blame but yourself at this point. You aren't a victim, you're a volunteer.

D&D 5E (2014) Dealing with a trouble player and a major blow up

That guy is awful, and you shouldn't play with him. If I was also in your group, after the second or third outburst I would tell you "its him or me but someone is leaving."

Unearthed Arcana Unearthed Arcana: Variant Rules

To be fair, the idea is more that players rolling all the dice keeps them more engaged on their off turns and also frees the DM up to focus less on math/rolling and more on other stuff. Especially since DMs roll so much more dice than players.

    D&D 5E (2014) What solution for blind character ?

First, ask your DM if he knew how bad he was screwing you and if he has a built in story out.

    D&D 5E (2014) DM: overwhelmed with creatures

I didn't know that, I'd for sure list the bloodied value next to the hp on my sheet in 5e. If for no other reason than as a reminder to tell players/place a token under a mini.

    D&D 5E (2014) DM: overwhelmed with creatures

I write/print them on paper something like this. Kobold Slinger A- 20- Kobold Slinger B- 20- Kobold Dragonshield C- 30- Etc.. So enemy name, a letter to quickly differentiate them, total hit points (and bloodied value if I'm using 4e), and a space to keep track of numbers with a pencil as...

    D&D 5E (2014) Fighter Weapon Choice

I actually think the opposite of this is true. Most players who don't get too deep or understand the math are going to pick the biggest dice weapon they can and move on.

    D&D 4E The Best Thing from 4E

I mean, in general I agree with you. That said, I'm not sure 5e let's you be an elf wizard with a longsword much easier or with more effectiveness. I don't think any edition does. D&D is pretty rigid by default. I think 4e provides the most tools to break out of the box. Though they are...

    D&D 4E The Best Thing from 4E

I mean, I was doing this at level 1 right when 4e came out. No swordmage. Magic Missile had an attack roll. Many less options to tweak it out or use weird implements. Also, it's still cool. And I didn't have to do a thing other than being an eladrin. Which I would have done anyway. I'm not...

    D&D 4E The Best Thing from 4E

Mine did. That +3 to hit, 1d8 damage gave me a decent OA without having to spend a single resource on it. Also, it was cool. Was gonna go Wizard of the Spiral Tower but never made it that high.

D&D 5E (2014) Just About Sick Of Darkvision.

Yeah on Roll20 its probably fun to have all the different visions/light sources.
  18. The Human Target

D&D 5E (2014) Just About Sick Of Darkvision.

I agree with this, but I'd rather dark vision get toned way down in frequency (4e style) and just let people who don't want to mess with lighting details (me a lot of the time) just ignore it. Having tons of dark vision races but still requiring light sources for some races to function is the...

D&D is becoming a collectible card game! Or something!
