    D&D 5E (2014) Dungeons & Dragons Dice Master Game

I'm a fan of Dice Masters. Its the only collectible game I've ever gotten into. The D&D set is considered by many to be the best set, with the best production values. But its also 5 bucks more expensive. If ya want details I can give em to ya. Here's a link to a site dedicated to the game...

    D&D 5E (2014) Odd-numbered ability scores

I don't really like that mechanic, but at least that makes the current ability score system make sense. What we have now is just one of the many vestigial tails of D&D. They don't bother me really, but they do probably make the game pointlessly arcane for new people.

    D&D 5E (2014) Odd-numbered ability scores

I fall more on the "in the d20 era why do we even have the ability scores separate from modifiers" side of things instead of trying to fancy up the odd scores. Or if we're going to keep the 3 to 18 spread at least have it do something interesting.

D&D 5E (2014) Evil Vs. Neutral - help me explain?

That's what I was thinking. Its a fun idea!
  5. The Human Target

D&D 5E (2014) Evil Vs. Neutral - help me explain?

Yeah I think that's just the standard D&D campaign. ;)
  6. The Human Target

D&D 5E (2014) Evil Vs. Neutral - help me explain?

Yeah its a lot easier to understand. Combine that with it being mechanically unimportant and we never even really discussed it. Unlike 3e where we spent a heap of time at the table arguing about it to no ones benefit.

D&D 5E (2014) Evil Vs. Neutral - help me explain?

We had one whole edition without alignment arguments.

D&D 5E (2014) Evil Vs. Neutral - help me explain?

A million times this. As long as he isn't being disruptive otherwise and you're fine having a hired killer character in the game, who cares?
  9. The Human Target

D&D 5E (2014) How often do you fake it as a DM?

Not ever really. I need some degree of prep. And if I'm not feeling it that much I usually just call the game off and suggest we play a card or board game.

D&D 5E (2014) Sorcerer vs. Wizard: Anything You Can Do I Can Do Better?

2.5? Thinking about explaining them to a new player highlights just how similar they are, especially if you add warlock into the mix.

    D&D 5E (2014) Dose D&D have room for a diplomat class?

Diplomat class? Sure. Class that isn't a combatant? What's the point?
  12. The Human Target

D&D 5E (2014) Proficiencies don't make the class. Do they?

Who is saying the artificer shouldn't have any unique class features? I don't see how anyone can understand your argument, nor why they would bother to try at this point in the thread.

D&D 5E (2014) Proficiencies don't make the class. Do they?

I believe you could do that with almost any class idea. However I am not a professional game designer.

D&D 5E (2014) Proficiencies don't make the class. Do they?

So you want me to build a 20 level D&D 5e artificer class so convince you (a random person on the internet) that the artificer should be a 20 level D&D class? I guess I don't understand the point of the thread. Why don't you write me a 5000 word essay about why the ranger should be a class?

D&D 5E (2014) Proficiencies don't make the class. Do they?

Paladins are a thing from decades of being in D&D.
  16. The Human Target

D&D 5E (2014) Proficiencies don't make the class. Do they?

What is the artificers big thing? It uses technology, but magic! Its the magicpunk class specific to Eberron. Its much more of a half caster all arounder, making it much more similar to a bard than a wizard. What is a ranger in 5e? A fighter who can have a dog and gets the tracking feat for...

D&D 5E (2014) Proficiencies don't make the class. Do they?

Why couldnt you come up with a specific widget class mechanic for artificers? Is it any harder than coming up with mechanics for any other class? Couldn't you come up with an entirely unique pirate class? Or ballerina class? I don't buy the argument that an artificer is any more or less...

D&D 5E (2014) Proficiencies don't make the class. Do they?

    I don't understand the question.
  19. The Human Target

    D&D 5E (2014) 5e Bastard Sword

Does anyone really do that? And isn't it pretty easy to switch from a longsword with shield to a great sword? How many actions is that, I'm not sure.
