    What's In Your Battlewagon

Not that I'm giving any stats but... There is a war wagon that was built around 1420 by the Hussites and led into battle by Jan Zizka. They were heavy wagons that were built up and protected with improvised armor. They were also mounted with small cannons. I wasn't able to find many...

Bad link on front page 8-Oct-2003

The link to the alternity-d20 monsters has a stray " at the end. i.e. http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=d20modern/article/20031007a" instead of the correct http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=d20modern/article/20031007a later, Ysgarran.

    Fields of Blood???

I had just come to this board to post exactly this question. It does seem very over-due at this point. http://www.edenstudios.net/odyssey/7005.html Says Sept, 2003. I was wondering if they were delaying on purpose so they were not competing directly with 'Cry Havoc'...but that is just...

    Outsourcing

Since I posted the bad news I felt a need that I should post the good news also. I just got a job offer (that I'm 95% sure I'll take) for a contract position for 3 months. 1. This job may turn into a full time position (but that depends on how well this small company does). 2. It will give...

    Outsourcing

Yes, I'm afraid you are correct. It is part of what makes the problem intractable. I wonder about how this bodes for the long economics in the west. I don't know the statistics but I've always had the feeling that a large portion of the middle class and upper middle class has been filled in...

    Outsourcing

In just the past hour I've learned that I've been laid off. Even though rumours had been circulating of (more) reductions in the work force I really thought I would be safe. I've been worried about the long term stability of the job since my company relies heavily on state revenues (which have...

    Hellcat Hell.

Our party ran into a 3.0 Hellcat (DR 20/+2) the other day and we didn't have any +2 weapons or GMW spells. The Hellcat got a Hold on the Gnome cleric and started raking every round. We couldn't get past the DR so we did the only thing we could thing of. We grappled the cat. Now, how would...

    Outsourcing

I would say in the short term, Stockdale is correct that you may not have to worry but in the long term there may be bigger problems. What has happened to American manufacturing jobs is now happening to American IT jobs. What sector are you in, Die_Kluge? From I can tell Financial Services...

    Outsourcing

Worse than that, it is most likely that those outsourced jobs will be moving to India, China or one of the former eastern bloc countries. I'll post the link to the article if I get the time. Ysgarran. http://www.csmonitor.com/2003/0729/p01s03-usgn.html

What book you think is a must have? -- ANY for D&D

Adventure hooks...good. I'll have to take a look at this book then. Ysgarran.

What book you think is a must have? -- ANY for D&D

I'll second BotR and add in A Magical Medieval Society: Western Europe. I really enjoyed Midnight but my group is so entrenched in FR and Greyhawk I doubt I'll ever have the time to run it. I tend to dislike most PrC books since (in IMHO and Endure Elements(Fire) and I'm not asking anyone to...

Running from the Sunless Citadel to the Bastion of Broken Souls

    1. The dungeon crawl nature of many of the modules clashed with the style of campaign I usually run. I started down the path of the running all of these modules as a way of learning the rules. A dungeon crawl here and there is ok but when strung together like that it, it become a bit too...

    I'm afraid we've suffered a loss

Rel, My deepest sympathies. Ted had a very good friend in you and you had a very good friend with Ted. Keep those memories that you have shared, they are a testament to the kind of person Ted was. I think a good friendship is one of the best legacies we can leave behind... Ysgarran.

What does the criminal element look like in a NG town?

Do not equate a chaotic or neutral society with a lawless society. They have laws just like any other society, it is just that those laws favor the individual over the larger group. I would also say that the government would not be as hierarchal as on run by 'lawful' inclined individuals...

    Fly vs. Alter Self.

I think that is exactly why there are no humanoid winged creatures in the core rules. The only example of a 'humanoid' with wings we could find (actually one a player in my campaign could find) was the Avariel. Ysgarran.

I think that it was appearence only in the pre 3.0 day, but not any longer.

    Fly vs. Alter Self.

I've slowly been going through all the spell changes and came across this one that didn't seem consistent to me. Unless I've missed errata somewhere the Fly spell duration has been changed from 10 minutes/level to 1 minute/level. Speed has been cut back from 90 feet/round to 60 feet/round...
