    6 Charcter Stomp Down Challenge

Might I suggest a Rogue/Fighter/Templar/Holy Liberator/Order of the Bow Initiate. One of the players actually made him in my last campaign, and he was practically invincible, not to mention the fact he could dish out absurd amounts of damage per round. Can't remember the precise breakdown...

    The Assassin Loophole

Re: Well, if an assassin... Whilst this may make sense for Poison Use and Death Attack, how does this work with respect to sneak attack, Uncanny Dodge and spells. Sneak attack cannot be considered necessarily evil as a lawful good rogue would have access to it. Similarly, the lawful good...

    NoXFeR's Awesome Presence

Still a bit potent. It just occurred to me that sorcerers can access this spell, via Greater Anyspell (FR or MaOF, can't remember) or Limited Wish. They could easily pump their DC by a full eight points or more. Even wizards would be very keen on this: with a +2 charisma mod, this is...

    Getting older and low Constitution?

Irrespective of the ruling in the PHB, I house-rule that if a stat reaches 0 through aging, you become bedridden (Str/Dex) or die (Con). Bear in mind that DnD characters do pretty well: they have an average life expectancy of 91 (!) if they don't get killed, eaten, turned to stone or...

    Awesome Spell Combos

Prismatic Wall + Bigby's Forceful Hand. Victims have to suffer all spell effects, should they get Bull Rushed. Have the Hand itself stop just in front of the Wall so it doesn't get annhilated (of course, this scheme can be tried by any Bull Rush). Reverse Gravity + Prismatic Wall. Similar...

Funniest Thing you have heard at the gaming table

Okay...from my campaign a few weeks back. The PCs were investigating a mercenary sergeant who had been hired to take over from the regular village sheriff because the village was under threat of imminent attack. However, the PCs suspected that the sergeant was in cahoots with some bandits...

    NoXFeR's Awesome Presence

Jeph: In all fairness, this is a Wiz only- not Sor/Wiz. I presume that this is a specific foible to your theory. Nevertheless, I am skeptical. Enchanters tend to have decent Charismas, due to the character archetype. With a few Charisma buffing spells, this can effectively turn into a very...

    Slavery, Rape, Madness and War!

Boadicea killed around 70,000 in her revolt. Admittedly, she was sorely provoked, but the tally is still fairly devastating.

Need ideas for an... unusual campaign.

Suggest to the orc that she was living peacefully in her village before it was burned down (and her parents were killed...hohum) by rampaging elves. :D

    Researching a spell- Input please

Two things: Should it not be Illusion (Phantasm)? Is 7th level not too high? The former is obvious; with regard to the latter, consider that by this level you can Dominate the foe with a failed Will save or kill him outright with a failed Fort save. Having him believe that you are dead is...

    roleplaying across the gender line

Fair point. In that case, I'll stop heckling. It is a shame that you've made the call, but I can see that you have had poor experiences of cross-gender gaming. It is no my place, nor anyone else's, to tell you how to run your game: we are only here to make suggestions supported by rational...

NPC levels vs age and experience...

In general, I allow most ordinary NPCs to earn 1xp/day for going about their daily business, training in their 'career'. For that matter, I would probably allow anyone to do this: be it warriors who are in training, commoners engaging in manual labour, or experts sitting at a desk.

What do you think is the most useful school of magic?

Enchantment. It's probably the only school that is useful in most combats AND most social settings. Transmutation is a close second.

    A kinder, gentler vorpal weapon.

I used the instant coup de grace on a critical hit. It's still almost impossible to save against, particularly with heavy-hitting high-critical fighters, but it is just about possible. A nice corollary is that the big threat range weapons have a low multiplier, and are easier to save against...

    Gender Thread Inspired Poll

I'm a male who has never played a female of charisma less than twelve. But then, I mostly DM, and when I *do* play, I never play characters with an average charisma or worse, irrespective of gender.

[Epic] Help me build a Necro...

Though I'm normally loath to counsel it, try the True Necromancer. At non-epic levels, it's awful due to delayed spell progression. Yet due to the fact you've got cleric and necromancer levels anyway, it might be worth a shot.

    New Template - Phenix

As a name, you could go with 'Scion'. I believe there were Scion creatures in the old 2e Higher Level Campaigns book.

    roleplaying across the gender line

In all fairness, this is because of Wizards' obsession with political correctness rather than anything else. Based purely on anecdotal evidence, I would argue rather vehemently that the vast majority of PCs in *actual campaigns* (and indeed, significant NPCs) are male. Back to fusangite's...
