Luckily, they are also one subsystem that it's easy to design and publish modules for.

    Expanding the D&D brand?

There are already D&D comics being published by IDW right now. They are nothing special but fun to read. One series for Dark Sun, and another two set in Forgotten Realms.

    D&D 5E (2014) D&D Next Blog: Beyond Class & Race

I'm liking everything I read in this blog. I used to prefer long and hard method of generating my characters, browsing through hundreds of feats and fine-tuning my skill points. Nowadays I prefer something much simpler, and themes and backgrounds seem to offer exactly this. Great job, WotC.

    Scaleable spells

Oh I agree completly with you. I was just giving an example of how it could look in 3rd edition. In 5e it really should be condensed as much as possible. FIREBALL [Fire, Evocation] Level: Sor/Wiz 3 Casting: 1 standard action (V, S, M) Range: 15 by 15 ft. burst within 100 ft. A fireball spell...

    Scaleable spells

There was once a thread about the same subject. I posted my idea of how could a fireball look in 3e if it used the ideas of 5e (i.e. no automatic scaling). I'll repost here: Fireball Evocation [Fire] Level: Sor/Wiz 3 Components: V, S, M Casting Time: 1 standard action Range: Long (100 ft.)...

Feat points for getting feats instead of fixed feat slots at levels?

Or divide feats into 2 or 3 quality categories and give them to characters in alternating order.

    Falling from Great Heights

That is explained away as being barely hit/grazed as long as you have HP. I haven't heard about people (heroes or not) who barely fell from a height :D

    Get Rid of Proficiencies

That's all besides the point. I'm not disputing what weapons should each class have access to, but rahter the way the game accomplishes that.

    Falling from Great Heights

Did they leap into a chasm? If they have no parachutes or gliders or rings of feather fall, they should die. Reward preparation, not levels.

    Get Rid of Proficiencies

There isn't, but we are not talking about changing 3e. Any single rule doesn't exist in a vacuum. If you want to change something, you can change other rules so the first change makes sense. As for clerics, that was just from the top of my head. You can make more specific restrictions based on...

    Get Rid of Proficiencies

Proficiency rules are not worth the paper they are printed on. We don't need them. Don't want cleric to use slashing weapons? This can be regulated with god's tenets (thou shall not spill blood etc.). Druid's forbiddance of using metallic weapons already doubles with her weapon and armor...

    Falling from Great Heights

I don't think the problem is that a high level character might survive a fall from a great height. The problem is that he will, for certain, survive it. If falling damage was to be more random, if even an epic character would pause before jumping 100 ft. down, then I would have no problem with...

D&D 4E 4E combat and powers: How to keep the baby and not the bathwater?

While I think this is a good idea, I'd tweak it. Those points would be about awareness of warrior's surroundings and his ability to exploit momentary occasions that happen now and then. Martial characters begin each combat with a small amount of this resource and gain more as a battle...
