Checklist for DM on the go

I like it! My personal method is to keep everything in a backpack I have and just bring it with me to game sessions so it's always prepared, but a checklist is definitely a nice idea. I think I might come up with something separate for myself (I don't need quite as extensive of a list as yours)...

Any word on the next DnD figures?

I like the non-randomness and ease of availability of PC figures; that'll help players who want specific ones for their characters. The "one figure is visible" part of the monsters is cool. But, I still strongly dislike the price tag. I'll be sticking to tokens, I suppose... don't get me wrong...

*facepalm* I keep doing that. Fixed!

    Multiclassing Barbarian

There aren't any multiclass feats set up, unfortunately. However, as far as non-houseruled options, the Battlerager Fighter build (see: Martial Power p6) more or less seems to be the same thing.

temp hit points. just to be sure

Depends, did you take Battlerager Vigor? See the bold part. If you took Battlerager Vigor, yes, it stacks. If you did not, no it doesn't. Also note that the temp hp from the first part of battlerager vigor (the on-hit trigger) will not stack, ultimately only giving it to you if its temp hp given...

    Warlord - punished for sacraficing

Well, you could always let the Warlord roll the attack of the player he's "attacking through". It's a lot funner to roll a d20 and damage dice, etc than to just say "ok, John, you get a free attack.". I think that'd help a lot toward fixing the "lack of fun" you'd feel in your particular case.

Ander's power cards for sale on Ebay

The biggest issue is not so much that they're selling Ander's power cards so much as that they're selling copyrighted material, IE the card text. The PHB isn't exactly a free, publicly available resource. And THAT is a MUCH bigger legal issue for whoever's selling the cards.

    D&D 4E 4e with 7/8/9 players

Honestly? I think once you reach THAT many players, a laptop to help you keep track of everything would probably help a ton. Now, the problem is, I don't know of much at all in the way of 4e software... I only say this because it's what I always thought would help me the most when I've ended up...

wizard of the spiraling out of control

Sort of. The saving throw mod can apply to anything, but you can only extend at-wills if you choose that option when you use your orb mastery. Now, Wizard of the Spiral Tower. Check the wording on Corellon's Implement: "You can use a longsword as if it were that type of arcane implement when...

D&D 4E Forked Thread: [4E] accessories and other products we buy

I went out and got the Monster Manual and DMG, so you can finally add that to my list. Well, part of me bought it just because it was cool, but yeah the tables of information help. The PHB was because to me it seemed like the one book you really NEED to have a copy of, given that it has all of...

Unarmed fighting - how to introduce it via feats?

If he just wants the flavor of it... give him fistwraps (or something of that nature) that act as weapons. That allows you to have "unarmed" attacks that work as well as normal weapons and lets you give proficiency bonuses and magical effects to the attacks. Probably just give the fistwraps (or...

D&D 4E Forked Thread: [4E] accessories and other products we buy

PHB, KotS, DM Screen, and the "Premium Dice" That's it. Surprisingly, enough to try out 4e without spending too much. I do plan on getting the rest of the core books ASAP though, I just couldn't really afford to spend too much at the time I bought them. That's also why I'm holding off on books...

"...may use this instead of a basic melee attack"

Powerful charge: "When you charge, you gain a +2 bonus to damage and a +2 bonus to bull rush attempts." (PHB p199) It doesn't mention anything about basic melee, just "+2 damage", so in this case it would apply. As far as the attack roll bonus: "...make a melee basic attack or a bull rush at...

    Good & Bad : Wizards

I was messing with a Battlemage build idea last night, and I had a question: Does taking Wizard of the Spiral Tower and thus using a longsword instead of a defensive staff allow a wizard to get +1ac from his "staff" implement and then take shield feats to get a light/heavy shield for another...

    Coup de Grace and Charge

Well, in that case it's a move, not a shift, so that would change things slightly. But yeah, if he merely ends adjacent and doesn't do a movement that'd provoke opportunity attacks, the attack wouldn't provoke an OA. It's certainly thinking outside of the box with powers (reminds me of stuff...

How to kill a blue dragon?

I don't get it. Now, if they're NOT attacking from that sort of range, there's no incentive to run and hide. Unleashing an encounter like that would be the simplest way TO accomplish trying to make your PCs run and hide. If anything, that might be their goal, to try to encourage people to think...
