Seminar Transcript - Class Design: From Assassins to Wizards

Just to see if I'm understanding this, we're seeing something like, 15th level fighter can deal average 90 damage per round. 15th level wizard can dominate said fighter, losing any damage dealt that round, but gaining 90 damage per round in subsequent rounds while also preventing said 90...

How does EN Publishing feel WotC announcement?

Santiago is still well under way at this time. There's actually a blog coming up about it soon.

    Modular Classes

hmm, I must have missed that one. I'll go look for it now. Thanks.

    Modular Classes

I posted these suggestions over on the WotC forums and figured I'd grab our community here as well. This was inspired by Jacob Singer's thread about Essentials of Character Creation. The idea (per Wizards) is to keep everything modular. So, with that in mind, I thought up how they could...

    Should Epic Be In PH1?

I think they did a pretty good job with the concept of the epic tier. That said, they really could have gone further into supporting it and making it feel like less of a reiteration of what we just did for 20 levels. To put it short, keep the idea, but try to do more with it.

How does EN Publishing feel WotC announcement?

I disagree. If it is truly as modular as they say, creating the epic tier modules in the new iteration shouldn't be impossible. With Ryan's grasp of design, I doubt it would set him back more than a month.

(Most of) the Myths of the Far Future Player's Guide

In answer to your question, from my view, I would say that Dragonborn (for example) would qualify for Alien specific feats. Those feats have a requirement of any non-alien race, which in this setting really counts as humans. For example, Eladrin, dwarves and all the rest of the races other...

Anyone active on the Wizards boards?

I have to agree with Morrus. You'll get less out of your effort than it may at first seem. If you're going to post anywhere, it'll probably be in either House Rules or GSL, neither of which sees much traffic. In my experience, both with D&D and a few other games, those who stay on the...

    Mass Combat rules

I gathered that. Is it introduced in a recent book or dungeon/dragon article where I can look it up?

    Mass Combat rules

Can you please take a moment to explain what XPV is? I've liked reading through this, but I feel I'll better understand when I know what that is.

Myths of the Far Future will be Pathfinder too!

I don't think we'll have to worry about 5E until at least next year, and that would probably be previews at the most. Either way, if and when 5th does come out, I'm sure somebody will tackle it head on. I know with my love of systems and conversions in general I plan to plumb everything there...

A few pages from the Player's Guide

Yeah, unfortunately, there's only so much derivation you can have without making it completely unrecognizable. Granted, there are things that don't happen exactly, and some completely brand new things for those who have read the novel, but the storyline and premise is all there.

A few pages from the Player's Guide

If I can actually get the time off for Gen Con next year, the beer's on me :) And yes, the teaser looks awesome; I can only imagine how much cooler the final product will look.

Can I play as Altair of Altair? (minor spoiler)

I think it would be a lot of fun if in Santiago, we could make characters similar to those we can read about in the Novel. In fact, I created this character with her in mind. Enjoy!

    schedule?

Morrus's post is so cool it had to be repeated to really sink in!

    schedule?

<<.<< >>.>> o.o okay, it looks safe. *Warning, opinion incoming* I probably can't say much, but I can tell you that Santiago hasn't fallen by the wayside. I believe Morrus just didn't want to have two competing storylines going at once. It is a much better decision to let Zeitgeist find...
