Who Else Thinks This Dude Is Hot?

I concur. I'm a straight guy, and/so none of these guys are 'hot' to me, but I think if I were gay or a woman I would prefer the guy from pathfinder (minus the scar on his nose, which kind of ruins his good looks.) If I were gay and a woman, I would prefer the berry-eater from the other thread.

Who Else Thinks This Chick is Hot?

The end is near. I think the berry-eater looks the best. The angry warrior looks kind of strange; her head/neck look strange to me. The red-head is kind of hot, but I think her legs look funny (her knees are tiny (preemptively defeated by hobo! But I really do think that's the case here))...

    Why is D&D for sale?

That's really interesting. I'd love to know who made the offers, but I'm sure I'll never know unless I get a job at WotC. :\ Have you not seen Men in Black? :p

    Balancing Metamagic with Swift Actions?

Sounds like an excellent idea to me. Are you setting the cost in swift actions at twice the level adjustment?

    Why Worldbuilding is Bad

I think you misunderstand my position; like you, I think the adventures are what matter. I differ in that I think world-building actually leads to better adventures. I'm not sure this should always be the case. Regardless, I don't think a 1,000 page essay is necessary to achieve good...

    Why Worldbuilding is Bad

You certainly could - but if the primary goal is to have cool adventures, this isn't that exciting. I disagree that that would be ridiculous - I think you might come up with unique ideas that you wouldn't normally think of. Most worldbuilding still leaves a lot of room for adventure design...

    Why Worldbuilding is Bad

This assumes that he will be more creative if he has no restrictions. My understanding is that the opposite is true - restriction breeds creativity. Edit: If necessary, he can always go back and modify the setting a bit if his setup leads him to an idea that doesn't quite fit.

    Why Worldbuilding is Bad

I just looked up Hamilton on Wikipedia, and, after reading the synopsis of Fallen Dragon, ordered it on Amazon. Thanks for the recomendation (intentional or not)!

    Why Worldbuilding is Bad

From reading interviews with Harrison, and some of his other blog entries, I think it is clear this is his actual intent, and I don't think he was using excessive wording to voice his moderate opinion - he really, truly hates worldbuilding. As an example, see bolded text (and note that you are...

The new Magic:The Gathering cardface is hideous

Future-shifted cards are easier to fan out in your hand and read both the name and the casting cost. I like the current frames fine, but I don't really care what the frames what look like.

RHoD - Ruins of Rhest - SPOILERS

I just free-handed something. Four walls with a walkway around it for the first floor, with 2 double-doors (windows, actually) on opposite sides; second floor, same shape with a hole in the middle where the bell hangs. A flight of stairs between them. I think the building was 20' x 20'. I have...

Mearls says adventures are hard to sell [merged]

The target is probably the majority of DMs. I'm guessing that the percentage of ENWorld DMs who don't use pre-made adventures is much higher than for the general populace. What about Red Hand of Doom? That seems more recognizable to me than CotSQ, but maybe it's just because RHoD is new.

Silence - does it give a saving throw...

If I wear a piece of cloth over my mouth, will this block the silence effect and allow me to cast? I'd probably still be effectively deaf, which incurs a 20% spell failure chance if I recall correctly. How about a diving helm?

Building a character is like designing a magic deck...

I said It is, and I love it. About half of one of my D&D groups plays magic. I am probably the most serious player among us (that is, sometimes they judge instead of play). Building characters is lots of fun, I think - though my desire to min/max characters makes having lots of NPCs difficult...

    Would this feat be broken?

How does it make tumble useless? With tumble you can move and attack; with this you can't. You also can't get by a guy blocking the hallway with this, though that's much less of a problem.

    Would this feat be broken?

Nothing abusive comes to mind. I think it would probably be fine.

How do you rule on invisible weapons?

This is hillarious. For those who want to make invisible weapons very powerful (+2 to hit, flat-foot the opponent, etc.), why wouldn't every high-level adventurer use an invisible weapon? The price is much less than adding that 5th +1. I would be ready for any high-level PC to invest in this...
