    A Dragonlance Retrospective: Part 2

My plan is to split the party. The previous players of those characters that split will continue to play them (roughly corresponding to a 50/50 split) -- and new PCs will be set up by those players without one in that group. Vice versa for the other part of the split party. Those modules are...

D&D General The D&D We Played in 2022

I clicked 5e and PF2 -- vote won't accept PF2 for some reason. Ran them both (2x 5e, 2x PF2). RotFM is ongoing, SotDQ just started. I expect RotFM to end in late spring/ early summer, and we will move on to a 5e Classic DragonLance DL 1-14 campaign with that group. I expect a campaign crossover...

Dragonlance Shadow of the Dragon Queen Player's Options

They can just access it over the Web; that's it.

Dragonlance Anyone know of a 3rd party adventure follow on to SODQ?

It really doesn't. There are no issues of any consequence there. At all. This sounds a lot like "I don't like it" rather than "this is a problem". You get to like what you like, but problems suggest an objective element that is more than opinion and taste.

Dragonlance Anyone know of a 3rd party adventure follow on to SODQ?

I would leave 9-14 for the Classic campaign. I have no interest in grafting that on to SotDQ in any significant manner. That's for the Classic campaign. Yes, I would run Dargaard Keep as the SotDQ conclusion. I find removing encounters from a module that are a paragraph or less to be EASY...

Dragonlance Anyone know of a 3rd party adventure follow on to SODQ?

I would homebrew participation in the War of the Lance on the plains of Solamnia, edging in to DL8 and perhaps DL9 territory. I think DL8 alone would suffice really -- and then move to the natural climax of the SotDQ campaign - which is the main adventure in DL16 - World of Krynn in Ch. 4...

You aren't going with the PCs playing the classic characters are you Morrus?

Dragonlance Shadow of the Dragon Queen Player's Options

Another chirp about DDB and sharing subscription, which we use for all our 5e play. We also implement all of that in Foundry VTT -- and I pay for Mr. Primate's DDB Importer (which is awesome) so it all works out. I have also purchased Tasslehoff's Pouches of Many Things, the DragonLance...

    A Dragonlance Retrospective: Part 2

I have run DL10 in another form for another campaign. It is one of the best, yes. Its key feature benefits from players who are ENTIRELY attached to their characters and are deeply involved in the story of the campaign. The strength of the adventure depends very much on this emotional...

    A Dragonlance Retrospective: Part 2

As a frustrated wannabe DragonLance DM -- I have never actually run the Classic campaign as a contiguous whole -- this year marks the 39th anniversary. And I am finally going to run it - ultimately alongside SotDQ and then attempt to bring them together at the same time and have a campaign...

RPG Evolution - True Tales from Stranger Things: The Satanic Panic Comes to School

It was entirely a US thing. It had no meaningful impact even in Canada. As for why: self-described Evangelical/conservative Christians are about 35% of the American public. In Canada, that equivalent number is only 7%. This has profound effect on both social and economic policies as well as...

Dragonlance [Let's Read] Dragonlance: Shadow of the Dragon Queen

The three compilations in 3.5 (DoAT, DoW & DoS) is DL 1-14, yes in revised format. Not DL15 & 16 though. DL16, in particular, is something that a GM who is running SotDQ and wants to continue the campaign will want. DL16 is an anthology of adventures -- 40 pages of which is taken up by...

    D&D 5E (2014) “What if…” (combat idea)

This is just a gloss on the Vardy Combat System for AD&D 1st ed. It was published in 1979 in Different Worlds #6. The expanded version of that system, differentiating between weapons used and type of armor worn provided the basis for Peter Fenlon's Arms' Law as his house rule for Vardy, which...

    A Dragonlance Retrospective: Part 1

No. We have been down the animated road already. No thanks. Live action or forget it. Animated also has a reduced market appeal. I tried Vox Machina, but not my cuppa. Anime/Animated may have its adherents in geek culture, but if you are trying to break into a mass market with mass appeal -...

    A Dragonlance Retrospective: Part 1

Re: Riverwind: The rules and capability of the Blue Crystal Staff have been revised - it's easy to deal with Death on Black Wings at the Well now; Re Party split: This is also easy to deal with. The player has another PC in the "other party". When you get to DL6, run one session in that, then...

    A Dragonlance Retrospective: Part 1

They did Champions of Krynn -- SSI Gold Box. That computer game forms the basis of the adventure of the same name in the DragonLance Nexus adventure (Ch. 1 of which is on DMs Guild as an add-on to their DL source book). DL Chronicles has always been the most obvious of series to aim at live...

    A Dragonlance Retrospective: Part 1

Might have even been before that. I recall Roger Moore had a short story featuring Tasslehoff which was supposed to have occurred before Chronicles and the events in the modules; the story also appeared in Dragon. I don't remember when it came out though. Around that time? I remember it as I...

    A Dragonlance Retrospective: Part 1

DL-16 is the most usable module now relevant to SotDQ. It sends the PCs into Dargaard Keep to finish off Lord Soth. As a continuation of SotDQ, albeit with a few levels more, it should mostly work. That part of DL-16 is quite long, too. About 40 pages for Dargaard Keep!
