    Yedan's Troubleshooters

Whyre let's others take a seat at the table, preferring to stand with his back to the wall and his front to the door. "Led by a dwarf you say? The barkeep of the Plucked Cockatrice back in Amrovel said he had a dead dwarven brother who had fought along side Grantham. I think the dwarf went by...

    Yedan's Troubleshooters

Whyre, having never seen Nalden Rhey before, tries to sense if the man is lying. Nevertheless, eager to get things under way, and undaunted by having put his foot in his mouth at the Cockatrice, steps forward and showing Rhey his papers from the mayor... "Nalden, I am known as Whyre of White...

    Yedan's Troubleshooters

Is there any chance we might pick up the pace? I think this could be a great adventure and it would a shame to see the DM loose interest for lack of activity by the players. Are people really having trouble posting once a day?

    Is a Small Longsword type=slashing?

That's actually a great thought. A shame D&D doesn't have this as a core rule. I suppose the problem is you'd have to do this for all the weapons and you're sacrificing simplicity.

    Yedan's Troubleshooters

Whyre shakes is head with an expression that would seem to indicate his displeasure with having said the wrong thing... Man, I hate it when I ask one question and a person answers a different question. I didn't ask if he was dead, I asked if he was "close by." How does Mr. Filthy Mugs, here...

    Yedan's Troubleshooters

Whyre offers a nod to Mez as Mez enters the tavern and takes a seat. Whyre returns to the dwarf... "Ah. Your brother must have known him quite well. I imagine your brother would want to see his old buddy given a proper burial. Does your brother live close by?"

    Is a Small Longsword type=slashing?

Interesting. Does this give you any insight on why 3.5 maintained that a short sword can't do slashing damage and a dagger can?

    Is a Small Longsword type=slashing?

And you could be correct. This speaks to why I asked the question. It's odd to me that a short sword can't be both piercing and slashing like a dagger.

    Is a Small Longsword type=slashing?

Insinuating I'm upset because I can't use some weapon is asinine. More so given the history and unprovoked attitude I frequently get from SoS. I've already invited SoS to put me on his ignore list.

    Is a Small Longsword type=slashing?

Lol. Talk about taking a 2 foot leap over a 10 foot ditch. I don't feel anything. This hasn't come up in any game or any discussion. I'm not trying to circumvent anything. I'm just asking a question.

    Is a Small Longsword type=slashing?

And a medium creature, would in fact, receive a -2 penalty for using it?

    Is a Small Longsword type=slashing?

It's probably listed somewhere, but I can't seem to find it. If you have a Small sized longsword, does it still do Slashing? If so, then can you use a Small Longsword, as a medium-sized creature, as a light weapon to basically get a slashing shortsword? EDIT: And yes, I get that the rules...

    Yedan's Troubleshooters

Hoping to piggy back on the goodwill Evret seems to have engendered, Whyre gets a little social confidence and queries, ”We heard the town had trouble burying a fella by the name Harad Grantham, does that name ring a bell?”

    Yedan's Troubleshooters

Works for me! Whyre does a careful scan of the bar looking for anything suspicious or out of the ordinary, especially in case there are any rogues hiding in the shadows waiting to relieve him of what few possessions he has. With a nod to the barmaid, Whyre finds Evret and Bastion and sits with...

    Yedan's Troubleshooters

Whyre heads into town and purchases a flight of blunt arrows. He also grabs the first piece of wood which will serve him as a club should the need arise. Whye then heads to the tavern to meet up with Evret.

Hit Points - Why were they designed to be incoherent?

Thought I'd drop by to give you an empty answer (I know, big help aren't I?). Anyone who has seriously thought about the plausibility of any RPG inevitably runs into these types of wtf questions. For me it's the no dex bonus mechanic, for a fellow DM, it's the merging of damage reduction and...

For Want of a Nail (D&D - Any Edition)

Ha. Nice try on the cover, but I just rolled a 29 on my Sense Motive. Face it, ANUNDR is the kiss of death for PbP. You might even think about black mailing people with him. Threaten to join a game unless everyone gives you xp!!! ;)

    Yedan's Troubleshooters

Whyre nods at the others who are now considering the prospect of fighting the bone guardians of the grave. "If the skeletons are the remains of the towns folks, we should consider destroying them as a last resort. Hopefully Bastion will know of some way to put them to rest without harming...

For Want of a Nail (D&D - Any Edition)

rofl. If you see me posting for a game, I'll pay you 10 plat not to submit ANUNDR.... To put it another way, ANUNDR is batting 1000.

For Want of a Nail (D&D - Any Edition)

Sorry to hear that the game is dead on arrival. Was thinking about this while driving home from work the other day and I was really interested in seeing how you were going handle things like healing surges from 4e in the context of 1e characters.
