    Stress!!

I've always found "pumpkin carrying" to be a very effective means of stress relief. Seriously, when I'm freaking out over a deadline or work problem, I know I need to take some time out for a little R&R (adult or otherwise) with the wife. Puts things in perspective, and counts as 30 minutes (or...

    vs. Monsters Deluxe Edition

Vs. Monsters Deluxe Edition Vs. Monsters is not what I expected. And that’s OK. I had heard of Vs. Monsters many times before actually getting to see the game. I was familiar with Phil Reed’s original design of the game as part of the 24 hour RPG project, as well as its subsequent release to...

Arvin will take 20 on a Search check on each body. (20+8=28) Arvin barks out orders, his voice showing a little pain. "Someone keep watch. There are bound to be more of the hag's goons lurking in these tunnels! Kyteria, see to the wounded before we are attacked again."

[d20] What don't you know? (free pdf books)

If the poles are 750 feet from the ground, and the rope reaches 250 feet from the ground, that means it sags 500 feet. For the rope to sag 500 feet, it then has to first climb 500 feet, there are only 1000 feet total. Therefore, the rope must go strait down then strait up again. So the poles...

[d20] What don't you know? (free pdf books)

Actually, at that point, only the Serpent spoke, and he was more than an animal according to the story. No way did all those little lambs that Abel was sacrificing to please God talk. ;) And just because other people weren't mentioned in a specific tale doesn't mean they didn't exist...

[d20] What don't you know? (free pdf books)

He's mostly correct. Cain does kill Abel in Genesis 4:8, and thus kills 1/4 of the NAMED population of Earth. However, why then does Genesis 4:15-17 say " But the LORD said to him, "Not so; if anyone kills Cain, he will suffer vengeance seven times over." Then the LORD put a mark on Cain so...

What do you do beyond combat?

The best way to find things to do other than combat is to look at real life. Very few of us spend our lives engaging in combat. We work, go to school, look for romance, go to church, make friends, make money, deal with family, relax, socialize, get involved in our communities, etc. Translate...

City of Orussus, The Red Dragon Inn VIII

A sturdy young human enters the Inn. His bright green eyes take in his surroundings carefully, then he quickly heads towards the bar to meet Joe. They chat briefly, and Joe brings the newcomer a shot of something nearly as fiery red as the newcomers hair. He downs it in a gulp, slams the glass...

    Dwarven Lumberjack

Have you thought about using the Jungle Dwarf from UA instead of the standard PHB dwarf? Dump stoncunning for +2 Survival, and swap Ranger in for favored class? Pretty good stuff for a lumberjack. Jungle is similar enough to forest your DM might allow you to be a forest dwarf.

    Go Fox Go!!

Fox does some stupid crap. They have a good show like Bones - which I am really enjoying, and they pull it off the air for a month. Granted, I understand they want to show MLB, but why not move Bones to a better slot? Pullin a show for a month pretty much sounds like the kiss of death to me.

    A question for the ladies

This is just a comment from personal experience, and may have no basis in reality, but ... In my experience, I have found that long and short hair send different messages to women. Long hair says "I am young, sexy and virile. However, I am fairly irresponsible and not looking for a commitment...
