    Paizo Paizo Workers Unionize

And this googling has uncovered Paizo's side of this? Revealed the financial status of the company? Uncovered the pay roll? Provided a reasonable look inside the business model? Provided a plan for adjusting their business model to accomplish this? No? My point is simple, we do not have the...

So, did you just say to read one sides information and make up your mind? :D

    Paizo Paizo Workers Unionize

A lot of people don't like to hear things like this. But, hey, no company, no need for a union. What the company can afford is a good question. They might end up with a union and find out what they have is the most they'll get.

    Paizo Paizo Workers Unionize

True, but they didn't mention any affiliation with larger labor unions (or did they and I missed it?). Experience in union organization would be helpful. I'm not sure if any of them have that experience (beyond membership in a union anyway). As I said, it will be interesting to "see" what goes...

    Paizo Paizo Workers Unionize

No. Unions benefit from strength in numbers of both members and the companies they work for in an industry. Limiting yourself to the workers of one company is... unusual. Maybe they plan on expanding their unionization efforts if they succeed at Paizo, but I don't think this is an industry with...

The COWBOY BEBOP RPG Is Coming Next Year

More to worry about :D The Netflix series and now an RPG... crossing my fingers they don't mess up my favorite anime... on the other hand they may be as good as it. I can but hope.

    Dragon Reflections #50

Thanks, good article and a good issue. Upcoming number 51 was a favorite of mine, and I look forward to it, including the Marc Miller milk bottle :D

D&D 5E (2014) Tracy & Laura Hickman Announce Skyraiders of Abarax

I see airborne skyships and I think Lin Carter's Callisto books. Very derivative of Burroughs Barsoom books but a fun read in the 1970s when I was way younger than I am now. They included sky ships used by the "Sky Pirates" which included pressed paper (!) hollow hulls and hydrogen (? or helium)...

    Dragon Reflections #49

Those level limits were what made "human" a viable choice. Given all the perks of being demi-human (infravision, multi-classing, bonus to Thieves skills. various checks for secret doors etc.) there had to be a big downside. And those level limits rose from edition to edition, from Original, to...

    Dragon Reflections #49

The concept of "balanced encounters" was, to be polite, limited in AD&D. That became a fetish in later editions (3+). They didn't have a method of collecting information on Dragon material other than the letters to the editor column. Simulationism was a bigger part of 3E than AD&D. Really, NPCs...

RPG Crowdfunding News - The Price of Coal, Herbalist’s Primer, SLA Industries, and More

It strikes me as a good game for a U.S. History class in high school. Have they considered that?

OD&D First Dragon Magazine on ebay. The Dragon Vol. 1 Issue 1 July 1976.

So, this means I have to hide or lock my old TDs up. Not to speak of the Strategic Reviews. I didn't think issue one was as good as the last Strategic Review (it's predecessor) although I get the collector's value thing. On the up side I'm getting wealthier as I sit here :D

    D&D 5E (2014) Rewarding Overland Travel

In my game those are known as "outfitters". They carry all the gear needed for expeditions, including hiring out guides, maps, etc. Also useful spots to sell off miscellaneous supplies and gear you pick up. They are essentially "middle men" who buy various items from different craftsmen and sell...

    D&D 5E (2014) Rewarding Overland Travel

How about just giving them XP for seeing new things as they explore? More for unique / first time they encounter something (in example their first elf settlement), somewhat less for "new" things (say a different human town along the river), and less for typical things (say another midlands...

    Dragon Reflections #48

I think the issue was a good one. I almost always found articles and ideas that were interesting in Dragon in this era. That wasn't always true. It's just... "mediocre" but in a good way :D It just doesn't stand out as some issues do. And yes, the humor was... not the best part of the magazine.

D&D General Stranger Things Image of a D&D Game

Hmm I got caught up in the battle mat question but I think you're right. I use old file folders and poster board myself. Put down a 1 inch grid, cut them into various lengths of corridor, room sizes, etc. I like the parchment color of the typical manila folder but the 36" x 24" poster board...

Making it All Up (With Help)

Or you can get a game that includes tons of world building and random tables for stuff, like Kevin Crawford's "Worlds Without Number". I have it in hardback and PDF and the tables / tools are extremely well thought out and useful. The game itself is not bad either :D
