I really like the bit about stress. I hope it includes both a lower effect (or higher requirements for it) as you level up (as in "been there, done that") and possibly some long term issues. Maybe trouble sleeping / resting, or suddenly coming violently awake... interesting to see how this works...

Dragon guano as a source of ignition / combustion just makes sense :D Do you have different effects for different dragon's guano?

I eliminated real world science in my game :) No gunpowder, gasoline / internal combustion engines, miracle medical drugs, etc. In 1974 my original players were board / miniature wargamer history nerds :D They would have been blowing up dragons and building machine guns and tanks in no time...

OK... thank you for furthering the depressive nature of my take on this... mind you, I suspect that is the point of their "subversive approach". On the other hand, if my expectations are low enough I can't be disappointed so there is that :D

That term, "subversive approach", is what worries me about this. I suspect it means a take on D&D which will offend most fans / players of the actual game. I really hope I'm wrong though.

Disease (of any kind) in my game is the result of a Disease Spirit. Disease Spirits "ride" their hosts with various deleterious effects. They range from Minor Disease Spirits to Plagues. It works pretty well. It takes the (real world) science out of it and gives a different spin to disease. More...

We tried it, but it didn't replace Traveller for us. A bit less "science" than Traveller and a lot more "kitchen sink". We had played the Space Marines miniature rules that proceeded it. I think that helped as an entry point into the game / setting.

And pretty much everyone who has played the game for any length of time has that kind of attachment to something. Kind of like a multi-sided civil war in the making. Everybody going to hang with "their side". Uh... maybe we can skip the FOIA bit? :D

Yeah... if they canned something you were passionate about... not everybody could shrug that off and get back to work. Nothing like "creative differences" to create ill will and grudge matches.

Sounds like a cage match. :D And can you imagine how much angst and anger there would be if everyone's favorite / pet product was known to have been canned in favor of another.... it would make our current political situation look tame and polite!

Well, that seems fair... I'm not in mint condition anymore either :D And yeah mine saw more use than the magazine they came in. Although the thing I remember most for this issue was the index. That's bagged with my old magazines.

Advice on converting your locale to a wasteland would have been cool. Hopefully they do setting books. One of the appeals of Fallout 3 for me was the familiarity I have with DC. Fallout 4 is not my favorite in the franchise, but it's pretty good. I could skip the emphasis on settlement building...

Those are both regions in the North, but are not identical with each other. I'm not a Forgotten Realms fan (I own the original boxed set, that's it) and I may be wrong...
