"Wizards, Whiskey and Wonderful Things" ENW OOG Thread

 I was always pretty good at geometry, and IIRC a ray was a strait line in a single dimension.... :p

    Hey, Randomlingers...

Hello gang. I forward a link to this thread to moon dancer (I'm away on business). Although she will not be available for posting from 8-9 eastern time anyway. It's nice and warm in North Carolina. :)

Wizards, Whiskey and Wonderful Things - Concluded

Intentional irony. The poem Jake finds so depressing is actually one of redemption. The protagonist is eventually freed from jail and the unfair charges. Very obscure.

    Hey, Randomlingers...

Subscribed. I don't seem to be getting my e-mail notifications from EN World, haven't been getting them from SM updating the story hour. Used to work  and I didn't change anything. :( ...so I'll just check in on this thread later. and when haven't I been nice? (OK, don't...

    Hey, Randomlingers...

since I have a yahoo account that's easy for me. I'm familiar with the Yahoo groups, my regular gaming group uses one to schedule games, post adventure logs & misc docs, and communicate. I'm not sure it would be speedy - yahoo tends to go in fits and starts. But it works.

    Hey, Randomlingers...

Hi, just saw Queenie and SM's e-mails. I'll check in on this thread to see what we are doing. *** being in the IT business I had been wondering if we can download the PBP threads as a back up for a rainy day. :uhoh: Guess I should have said something sooner..... :(

How many PC deaths do you see per session?

Been many years since a PC died IMC. Killed many early on in my DMing career, but have improved over 25 years. ;-) Lots of well developed characters, roll playing, and I don't make it easy. and the real fear that I will kill them if they play badly. really I will. I mean it. don't push...

    Arrr!!!

I be sayin' that keel-haulin' be too good for such a bilge suckin' bucket o' chum. Arrrr, we be hangin' that landlubber off the stern where dem sharks can tickle dem toes, and the gulls can peck at the eyes. All the while we piratey folks be having some grog and singin' them fine songs. All...

What was your first D&D session like?

In spite of that they let me DM again.... over 20 years ago. It was a dark and stormy night... Ok not really. We were all over 20, I was the youngest and somehow elected to be DM. We were all aquaintences that barely knew each other that had intended to get together and do a hex war game...

    Was this wrong?

Now reverse the tables and a NPC shoots and kills a character... What are the characters going to do to that NPC later if they get a chance? How are they going to view the shooter? As a DM I have no issue with the action and alignment. I wonder how the other characters are now going to...

How do you draw a sword from a back sheath?

Looks very nice. 2 questions Isn't 2 handed Claymore redundant? I thought that Claymores were consistantly long enough to require 2 hands to use. Isn't that weapon pictured, although in Claymore style, too short to be a historically accurate Claymore? I thought they were all plus or minus...

d20 bubble bust?- High Prices, too many books

Thanks Merric for the segway... Adam Smith - Wealth of Nations "He generally, indeed, neither intends to promote the public interest, nor knows how much he is promoting it. By preferring the support of domestic to that of foreign industry, he intends only his own security; and by directing that...

    "Lord of Light" RPG?

what are you waiting for -- read it! Excellent book. Excellent author. Bigger than life characters. Not sure how it would play out, but I'd like nothing better than to put my faux coins in a pray-o-mat!

How I Made Peace With My Inner Gnome

When I saw the Faen (and spryte) in Arcana Unearthed I thought... hmmm I wonder if I could fit that in my game. Check out my copy of AU next time we play.

How I Made Peace With My Inner Gnome

You don't portray a gnome, you are a gnome or you aren't. Contrary to popular human belief, most gnomes aren't humble. And they enjoy their obvious disliking of you as well. Only gnome jokes are funnier. :p I am pleased that gnomes have made you existance more tolerable. (I find that...

Why all the Second Edition Haters?

I'm not much of a hater. Moving our gaming group to new rules is a serious use of energy that can be used to game instead. Our evaluation of 2E was that it didn't meet the cost benefit bar for our group. 3E did. Simple. YMMV Silver Moon you laggard :p

    Real or just another scam!?!

gullible because it is in print it must be true! I can't tell you how many times I have seen this and other 'chain e-mails'. that and the bogus virus warnings. There are enough viruses around without faux warnings. I am an IT Mgr for a large international company and I find it amazing how...

    Conan or Elric?

When I think of Dark High Fantasy, I think of Elric. Fantasy in the old world meaning of fantastic. The dark brooding anti-hero with real problems and intellectual depth always drew me more than the barbarian types. Room for all I say, but I favor Elric on this one. (those of you who like...
