Which fantasy TRPGs do you think truly reflect the characteristics of firearms as Game Changers?

There re two conceptual problems here: First, modern plates are not intended to let you ignore being shot at. Armour that can do that against rifles is too heavy to move in. They're intended to prevent you getting instantly killed. The hope - and it is hope - is that hits outside the covered...

The dominant religion on Avalon is Mammon, god of economic success. It has the most worshippers by a very long way. The quantity and level of clerics, paladins and other clerical spell casters that a religion can empower in Avalon is dependent of the number of worshippers. The Church of Mammon...

A combination of mind control magic and flattery worked fine. Then someone blew the road from the isolated coastal villa where he was staying. We suspect someone in the pay of the Gestapo; the crudeness matches. Since the characters have a luxury flying-boat, this didn't seem like a huge...

Which fantasy TRPGs do you think truly reflect the characteristics of firearms as Game Changers?

It isn't a new game, but GURPS does what you want. Getting shot once with a pistol is fairly survivable, but a rifle hit is a very serious matter, and a machine-gun burst just means you're dead. I've been playing and running an occult WWII campaign for many years, and characters in that don't...

Our wizard acquired a tower a few years ago, which has belonged to a succession of wizards. There's a nexus point in the lowest sub-basement, and she's spent several months getting better at operating it. As she masters the routes to four different worlds it offers, she'll be able to draw...

There is a mysterious well, which has darkness and elemental water magic in it. It's about 16 feel in diameter, about 250 feet deep, with about 190 feet of water in it. Even in dark fantasy, telling law enforcement that you killed someone "because he wanted to be killed" is a hard story to sell without a lot of witnesses and supporting evidence.

That's where things went off the rails. If I were the secondary DM and didn't feel I could run the town, I'd stop stop the session at the point where I'd otherwise have to, rather than assuming everyone is absent.

Game Design: Acquiring Equipment as Part of Game Play

To me, the list of mundane equipment is a part of expressing the character's personality. It starts off quite short and generic, and sometimes it grows substantially over time. A few examples: My first character in the occult WWII campaign was an intrusion and theft specialist. He carried lots...

A few months ago, exploring northern areas that have settlement, but aren't part of a country, we came upon a large and deep lake, with an ancient ruined city on its shore, as well as a modern village. The villagers told us there were Water Naga in the lake, and there was a low-level conflict...
