    District Court Opinion (nuTSR, Tenkar)

Is it possible that LaNasa's lawyer doesn't understand defamation? Tenkar's name-calling was annoying, by any reasonable standard, but the difference between annoying and actionable is important.

Describe your last RPG session in more than 5 words.

We had eleven weeks of downtime, each of ten days. Our lead cleric went to a neighbouring country where his religion is dominant, but in an altered form, which stresses greed and obedience to authority, and little else. He was teaching parish priests the less restrictive original doctrine, to...

An actual superhero game might suit them better, and would also dispose of inventory management. Champions is strongly tactical in play.

I can sympathise with just two of their objections: How frequently have you been running sessions? If it's weekly, switch to fortnightly, and see if anyone else is prepared to run something in the other weeks? From long experience, having a week off between GMing helps a lot with burnout.

GMs: Do you have a "Before" race for your setting?

There seems to have been a previous civilization in my homebrew AD&D world, because tombs and the very occasional creature from it get found. It isn't mentioned in the oldest extant records, and nobody seems to have investigated it very much. That's a plot line that's been waiting around for...

WotC How much does Hasbro / WotC impact your feelings towards D&D?

I voted 1 - tiny to no impact. Hasbro/WotC are the copyright holder on the stuff I play (OD&D, AD&D1e) , and I will occasionally buy a PDF from them, but I have very little interest in their current products. They've been getting more and more prescriptive about the way their games should be...

    Conveying Setting Information

My players will generally read a short primer. We're all in our fifties or older. I do get irritated with players who won't make any effort to be able to role-play real things that their characters would know. An example is a player who will dig deeply into Egyptology or the KGB, but in a...

    Calibans, Mongrelfolk and diability awareness

When I played an Igor in a Discworld game, he regarded himself as a superior being, who adopted the hunchback and the lithp to seem less threatening to ordinary people. The optional nature of the lithp in the stories supports this reading, as does the trope-inversion.
