What Published Modules Have You Run or Played Multiple Times?

I've run the original Judges Guild edition of The Dark Tower twice, for completely separate groups of players. I've never played the same module more than once; for ones where I had some knowledge of the contents from other people's play, I've tried to find in-setting ways to justify having that...

    GMing without an inner monologue.

Ooo, that's interesting! I'm a high 3 on that scale: the patterns and motions come readily to me, but as far as I know, they are not particularly connected to my thoughts. When I have been concentrating hard, they will start taking over parts of my visual field when my eyes are open. This has...

What magic system that uses some form of power points (e.g. casting spell x costs 3 points) is your favorite?

Ritual Path Magic, from the GURPS Thaumatology supplement of the same title. It takes some practice to use it for improvised castings without hogging the spotlight, but it's effective and flavour-filled.

DIY TTRPG props, terrain, toys, goodies and whatnot.

I don't do this a lot, but I was happy with a label I produced for a crate delivered to the party. There were checkboxes for "Greater God", "God", "Lesser God", "Demi-God" and "Home-made sticky-back-plastic God" (which was checked), "Quality checked" (which was blank), and a signature, which on...

TTRPG Genres You Just Can't Get Into -and- Tell Me Why I'm Wrong About X Genre I Don't Like

I've never had any interest in Star Wars or Star Trek licensed settings, because I'd ceased to take any interest in the source material before I discovered TTRPGs. In 1979. The only licensed setting I've ever been interested in is Discworld, and the roots of that definitely include RPGs. To me...

Describe your last RPG session in more than 5 words.

We were going along a path through "Old Frog Swamp" and were just arriving at the river when four giant frogs showed themselves. The two on the left of the party got missile fire from the Scout and chopping from the Knight, and weren't too much of a problem. The two on the right were only facing...

TTRPG Genres You Just Can't Get Into -and- Tell Me Why I'm Wrong About X Genre I Don't Like

We gave up on it after managing to do a job exactly right. Nobody knew they'd been robbed until hours later. And half the party got no advancement points, because they hadn't had any fights. Thinking back on it, the kind of "story" it tries very hard to create is what's taught to aspiring...

Mecha games. I just can't convince myself they make any sense at all as weapons.

    Psionics--the Poll!

Depends on the game and the setting. D&D psionics have never made a lot of sense to me, but a game that used psi instead of magic would be an interestingly different flavour. A GURPS campaign I played which was specifically about the emergence of psionics in a previously mundane 1960s worked...

TTRPG Genres You Just Can't Get Into -and- Tell Me Why I'm Wrong About X Genre I Don't Like

It depends whose life you're dealing with slices of. There's a character of mine who once got duplicated. After some argument, the duplicate went off to be a Pirate Queen in a Spelljammer universe, something the original would be fully capable of but didn't want to do. Some years later, she...

TTRPG Genres You Just Can't Get Into -and- Tell Me Why I'm Wrong About X Genre I Don't Like

Since I don't enjoy four-colour superhero comics, I can't really buy into the genre. Yeah, I can't help doing that.

TTRPG Genres You Just Can't Get Into -and- Tell Me Why I'm Wrong About X Genre I Don't Like

Post-apocalypse does not appeal much. I've enjoyed a game set a few centuries later, trying to rebuild civilization, but some people seem to glory in the collapse, and that doesn't appeal at all to me.

TTRPG Genres You Just Can't Get Into -and- Tell Me Why I'm Wrong About X Genre I Don't Like

Much the same here. The only superhero campaign I stuck with was built round mythic archetypes rather than comics tropes. I've no objection to romance spontaneously happening within a campaign, but a game where romance is the point isn't the kind of drama I can readily deal with.

Fantasy Art Commissions: Have You Ever Commissioned Some Artwork?

I've commissioned lots of art for the GURPS fanzine I co-edit, The Path of Cunning. Dan Smith and Kurt Wilcken are the artists I've used the most. We also use a lot of Dover Books' electronic clip-art.

Describe your last RPG session in more than 5 words.

Avalon is infested with portals to other worlds, which open and close randomly, but has a smaller number of "nexus points", which can be controlled. Our wizard is learning to control one, which involves going through it and then practising controlling it from the other side. This uses up all her...
