What is missing in 5E that you had in other editions?

Not sure about diet, but I know activity cycle was one. Even 3rd edition had Organization, Environment. I miss the Ecology section of a number of the monsters as well. I can understand why they stopped with that, in a way, but I do miss it.

What is missing in 5E that you had in other editions?

I miss the original 3rd edition damage reduction. Not so much the number before the slash, but what came after. Some monsters needing a +3 weapon to be hurt, instead of just "magic". Druids with animal companions. Odd ability scores not being useless, and the extra effects high ability scores...

Paizo To Make Kingmaker Bestiary... For D&D 5E!

Now I feel silly that I left out Paladin, especially since I am playing one in a game... Guess I should wake up a bit more before I post :p

Paizo To Make Kingmaker Bestiary... For D&D 5E!

There's more than 9 classes in 5e D&D: Barbarian, Bard, Cleric, Druid, Fighter, Monk, Ranger, Rogue, Sorcerer, Warlock, Wizard. That's 11 in the PHB, plus there's the Artificer they have been working on for the last year+. Yes, 12 is a lot less than the near 30 that Pathfinder has. Still, they...

Paizo To Make Kingmaker Bestiary... For D&D 5E!

The 5e OGL is the exact same as the one Paizo uses for Pathfinder. What is included in the SRD, however, is much more restricted compared to the 3e SRD. Each class only has a single subclass, each race only has a single subrace, there's only 1 background, and I think only a single feat? I could...

Paizo To Make Kingmaker Bestiary... For D&D 5E!

This looks promising. A Paizo 5e book would be great. I never got to play Kingmaker, though I tried to run it once. I wonder if this will just contain the creatures from the Kingmaker modules bestiaries, or if it will contain more.

Sneak Peek At Ghosts of Saltmarsh Maps

I should have been a bit clearer about the textless map. My bad and I apologize. In an adventure book, maps with the numbers and names and all that other stuff is more than fine. And that should definitely be included. My reasoning behind wanting a textless map is there being that option...

Sneak Peek At Ghosts of Saltmarsh Maps

I, too, can read it just fine sideways. But that's not the point. And you apparently didn't read the entire post. Mike Schley leaves the writing of names on both versions of his maps. DM and Player versions. Like I said in my post. Whether this particular image is the DM version or not, BOTH...

Sneak Peek At Ghosts of Saltmarsh Maps

I am referring to this image that Hussar posted a few replies above mine: This map looks to be made by Mike Schley, or someone very good at replicating his map style. On this map, there are numbers within circles, and 2 names: "Saltmarsh" at the top, and "Kingfisher River" on the left side...

Sneak Peek At Ghosts of Saltmarsh Maps

I am sure Mr Schley (I am pretty sure he did the map, as it looks like his map style) will have a non-numbered version for sale for a few US dollars on his website. Like the other adventures he has made maps for. However, rotating the map 90 degrees clockwise to make North at the top, will make...

    [Merged] D&D forum renaming thread

I agree with Zardnaar. Having to sift through old edition threads for 5th edition isn't all that intuitive. If you do want all D&D in one, make "subforums" within the D&D portion of the forum. Make the main 5th edition (or the current edition), then one subforum for 4th, one for 3rd, and one for...

    Dragonlance Stat the Dragonlance heroes

The stats are the same from the original 1e adventures and their "DragonLance Classics" reprint in 2e. They also had 3e DragonLance versions, though they seemed a bit strange. Goldemoon was a "heathen cleric", Riverwind a barbarian3/ranger2, Laurana and Flint had NPC class levels. I'd probably...

    F. Wesley Schneider Is D&D's New Editor

I wasn't posting my numbers asking "Why didn't I get noticed?" I knew just those 4 things (made in the first month the site was open, with nothing since) wouldn't get me noticed. I didn't make them to do that, either. I know $0 "purchases" don't count towards the badges. I sold those 4 pdfs with...

    F. Wesley Schneider Is D&D's New Editor

Sacrosanct : When I said "Something I am almost certain was a thing with Dungeon and Dragon magazines", I was referring to the part about "going through the products to see what's great and who made it". Everything submitted to Dragon and Dungeon magazines, I am really certain, had someone...

    Dragonlance Stat the Dragonlance heroes

She was full on Cleric in her 1e write-up, but she had no access to spells or anything else divine because plot. I honestly think Bard would be good, especially since her song within the Inn of the Last Home was what caused everything to go to crap. While that would possibly work with giving her...

    F. Wesley Schneider Is D&D's New Editor

That's what I was saying. I am sure someone on the magazine teams went through everything submitted to them to find the things they felt were good enough to publish. And if they continued to submit stuff, it was more likely to be chosen over something else. I am certain there is no such thing...

    F. Wesley Schneider Is D&D's New Editor

I don't know if I would call the DMsGuild a great way to get noticed. Somehow I doubt WotC has someone(s) grabbing every single thing on the guild and going through the products to see what's great and who made it. Something I am almost certain was a thing with Dungeon and Dragon magazines. And...

    Dragonlance Stat the Dragonlance heroes

Riverwind was listed as Ranger in his DragonLance adventure write-ups. Barbarian was his race (called barbarian in the novels, human in the adventures themselves. Technically an "uncivilized tribal" human).

Check Out Wayne Reynolds' Pathfinder Bestiary 2 Artwork!

No problem. Of course, I could be completely wrong!

Check Out Wayne Reynolds' Pathfinder Bestiary 2 Artwork!

I believe by him saying 1e, he was possibly speaking of Pathfinder 1e, which they were indeed colored like the chromatic dragons.Though their appearance was more like the 3e D&D kobolds but colored like dragons.
