    Dragonlance Stat the Dragonlance heroes

Just go with something close to what their original 1e write-ups were. I'd probably go with level 3, as by that time everyone has their subclass. Tanis: Fighter (battlemaster) NG. Half-elf. Outlander background Tasslehoff: Rogue (thief) N Halfling (lightfoot). Far Traveler background (kender...

    Who Killed the Megaverse?

I personally have no real problem with that so-called "megaverse" mentioned in the OP. The unfortunate thing about it is the power discrepency and "suspension of disbelief" difference between the technology levels. D20 Modern/Future/Past/Urban Arcana tried to mix them. But when people think of...

    Too weird for town....

I don't know where you got "any race is allowed" just because he said alignment is a "legacy notion". It is all dependant on the setting and story. Just because "alignment is a legacy notion" doesn't mean you HAVE to allow goblins and orcs as PC races. Also doesn't mean all goblins and orcs...

Sneak Peek At Ghosts of Saltmarsh Maps

I agree. For handouts, the Dyson maps are perfect. Especially if you don't want to take the time to copy them by hand. Much easier on the printer cartridges compared to the full color Schley maps. I am ignorant on what you mean by "colorized" Dyson map, though.

    Too weird for town....

It all depends on the setting, and the group. Right now, I am playing a gnoll paladin raised by a dwarf paladin since she was a monster baby. The town she grew up in accepts her because her "mother" was a respected member and they've known my character since she was brought into town. There...

Sneak Peek At Ghosts of Saltmarsh Maps

That's the way Dyson makes his maps. Honestly, I really do not like his maps. They aren't any different than what my lame butt can draw on graph paper. I prefer the Schley maps from previous adventures. Though, being completely honest, I prefer even more how Paizo does their maps overall. Of...

Check Out Wayne Reynolds' Pathfinder Bestiary 2 Artwork!

Interesting that they went full dragon with the kobolds. Not a fan of their face shapes, though. Overall, I like this cover. To me, my personal opinion, but I enjoy the art direction of Pathfinder a hell of a lot more than I do the art direction of D&D 5e. Don't get me wrong, the limited pool of...

WotC Considering NPC Stat Format Change

You do know Paizo has been more "progressive" for a lot longer than WotC has with their product lines, yes? There's been numerous homosexual couples, and even a transgender NPC in Wrath of the Righteous (which was released way back in 2013). Paizo's CEO is one of those evil despicable women...

Do you want Greyhawk updated to 5e?

FR was mostly presented through novels and video games, with a number of campaign guides tossed in there as well. I know that's how I was introduced to FR.

The New D&D Book Is Called "Ghosts of Saltmarsh" [UPDATED!]

The core 3 are basically rehashes of the core 3 from previous editions, with a few new things added in, and dressed in a different coat of paint. There's nothing wrong with rehashing something from an older time to introduce that to a newer generation. Many people playing D&D now don't know a...

Pages From The Upcoming Nautical D&D Book!

Cutting portions of a movie adaptation of a book is different than changing things. They removed quite a lot from the Lord of the Rings books when it came to making the movies. One of the few things they outright changed was the time it took between Bilbo disappearing and Frodo leaving the...

The New D&D Book Is Called "Ghosts of Saltmarsh" [UPDATED!]

Clearly you need to improve your reading comprehension. Perhaps increase the size of your computer monitor so the words "TO ME" would be big enough to read. And how dare I voice my opinion on a message board forum! Because that's surely not what such a place is for...

The New D&D Book Is Called "Ghosts of Saltmarsh" [UPDATED!]

That's what happens when you place practically every video game in FR. And I saw more FR novels than nearly any other setting, except maybe Dragonlance. And that setting went downhill after Dragons of Summer Flame. Demetrios1453 and Parmandur : I didn't read any of the monster lore because as...

The New D&D Book Is Called "Ghosts of Saltmarsh" [UPDATED!]

All the monster lore from Mordenkainen's and Volo's guides are useless to me. I don't run Forgotten Realms, so that's about 50% or more just wasted space to me. The name tables in Xanathar's I have no real opinion on. I know there are people out there that enjoyed and probably use the monster...

The New D&D Book Is Called "Ghosts of Saltmarsh" [UPDATED!]

I am not saying what they are doing is terrible business, and no one finds them 100% useful. That would be an extremely dumb statement. I am saying a good 50% or more of each book outside of the core 3 are absolutely useless, TO ME. WotC obviously seems to think it works, and apparently it is...

The New D&D Book Is Called "Ghosts of Saltmarsh" [UPDATED!]

Honestly, that's really all of the 5e books. I only use the adventures for possible monsters. The adventures for the most part mean nothing to me. SCAG is about 70% useless if you don't use Forgotten Realms, with the only useful bits being the cantrips and the subclasses. Volo's is about 50%...

Pages From The Upcoming Nautical D&D Book!

Quality of dmsguild products is questionable, hence my first comment about it being rather bad. However, I would rather wade through the bad to find the good than receive nothing at all, hence my second comment about wanting the old settings available for the dmsguild. I wasn't flipflopping on...

Pages From The Upcoming Nautical D&D Book!

That's what I am wanting them to do. Release a "Curse of Strahd" for all the other settings, where the setting information is contained within an adventure based within that setting. WotC can make their "One True Birthright" core setting, bundle it in with an adventure (either a remake, a...

Pages From The Upcoming Nautical D&D Book!

Yes, the dmsguild is rather terrible. I admit that. It's rather close to dandwiki with some of the content people put on there. But there have been some really good gems. Has been that way since they opened it up in 2016 (I put my first product up on there nearly 3 years ago to the date). Not...

Pages From The Upcoming Nautical D&D Book!

I honestly don't know much about Al'Qadim. I just know the adventures set within it had a different heading than Forgotten Realms. Though I am sure Maztica and Kara Tur did as well, and I know they are attached to the Forgotten Realms world. That's what I was actually trying to get at. Set...
