Critical Role Critical Role Campaign 3 Discussion (SPOILERS)

You seem to be saying that Twitterstorms need a reason to happen beyond "someone got angry on a platform that couldn't be better at stirring up rabid mobs if it had been explictly designed to do that (and maybe it was), things snowballed".

Poll: Realism Modules in Your Game

It's a proud tradition, when you're level 20 and you're saving kingdoms and arm-wrestling gods before breakfast, to be carrying round the same two weeks worth of rations that you started with. Just in case.

    D&D 5E (2014) Charm, the evil spells

Dismissing the question out of hand as if it was self-evidently ridiculous doesn't change the fact that it isn't. I find it a strange notion that psychic assault (using Suggestion to make an enemy flee, charming a captive into telling you the info you urgently need) is always, invariably, no...

Nice dodge away from answering the question.

Fizban's Treasury of Dragons Review Round-Up – What the Critics Say

Eh, that's possible but that theory clashes with my preconceived opinions, so I'm going to dismiss it out of hand, and go with bribery.

Games Workshop notes that space fascism would be bad

One little detail that I love is that there is, in-setting, a branch of the Inquisition dedicated to making the history of the Imperium and the wider galaxy as confusing and contradictory as possible.

    D&D 5E (2014) Charm, the evil spells

No it isn't. Inherently and unequivocally. :)

D&D 5E (2014) Idea that will most players will hate, but I think addresses a mechanical issue in game

One of the best-received items in my current game has been a Scimitar of Life Stealing. No pluses, but that extra damage and boost comes up rarely enough to feel cool when it does.

    D&D 5E (2014) Strixhaven: Orientation

And (I say this with love) this board is the groggiest collection of grogs that ever grogged a grog. :)

    D&D 5E (2014) Strixhaven: Orientation

I'm middle aged, and I can't wait for this book to come out. There's no friction here, and frankly I don't think there's much at all outside a tiny handful of grogs. And to me, Spelljammer seems far goofier and more kid-focused than going to wizard university. Not that actually I consider those...

D&D 5E (2014) The Dangers of Overreliance on Leomund's Tiny Hut (3rd Level Spell)

I just deal with that by explaining that "if something seems too good to be true, it probably is", and some things may be adjusted if I think it's necessary as a catch-all rule that's easier than writing up a big document. Because there is trust between me and the players, I explain my...

Either works for the people who assume the Harry Potter series invented magic schools.

    D&D 5E (2014) Strixhaven: Orientation

As we all know, university is a very serious place, with absolutely no childish hijinks from anyone who goes there, ever.

    D&D 5E (2014) Strixhaven: Orientation

Just point out that a big chunk of A Wizard of Earthsea follows the protagonist at a magic school, where he encounters an overprivileged rival, a loyal best buddy and a wise, father-figure headmaster, and gets into trouble through using magic carelessly.

    D&D 5E (2014) 5e Revision: Re-Balancing and Combats per Day?

If people would actually read it for themselves, it would be pretty clear that's just an example given, since the very next sentence talks about the party having fewer tough encounters or more easy ones. I think the problem is that most people don't read it for themselves and take someone else's...

D&D 5E (2014) The Dangers of Overreliance on Leomund's Tiny Hut (3rd Level Spell)

That's pretty much an admission of defeat when it comes to discussions of power level. I could come up with a level 1 spell that provided immunity to bludgeoning, slashing and piercing damage. A creative DM can find ways around it, which means it's not OP, right? Once you're talking about people...

D&D 5E (2014) Feats at first level (i.e. generalising Theros' idea)

I did that, with the feats chosen from a list that could be summed up as "everything that has never appeared in any optimisation guide".
