I don’t think a bastion needs an embassy. Bastions are more catered to a Stardew Valley like gameplay loop. Domain based play isn’t the intent of Bastions. But could you add one? Sure!

This again sounds like you see people's reaction to the article only in extremes. In my view it was just a petty article. I wish they had a different way to convince me to buy the book, but of course this is the only piece of marketing that actually got through.
