I don’t mind the “exploration features” being removed. To me, skill checks and some spells are all you need. As for the whole Hunter’s Mark thing, I am not too worried. The ranger’s better than the 2014 version already.

I never really used a DM screen. They get in the way and build a wall between me and my players. Which is a shame, because they are so pretty!

I don't think much will change, since such secondary effects have always been part of monster attacks. Maybe we will see it like the Multiverse's Blackguard, who adds secondary effects as a bonus action.

3 feats is way stronger than 1 level higher though. Plus those feats would probably synergize. At that point you should just start you campaign at a higher level.
