Gleemax Terms of Use - Unacceptable

I believe they did. AOL did also, with their AIM service. That ended pretty quickly (a week or two, I believe).

    LotR: Galadriel Triumphant

Yes, she's the daughter of Finarfin, Feanor's brother. I think she's the only remaining Calaquendi (an elf who saw the light of the two trees before Morgoth, the original dark god, corrupted them) in Middle Earth. Cirdan might be approximately as old, but Galadriel is almost certainly...

Gleemax Terms of Use - Unacceptable

EDIT: You know what, I'm not going to bother. If I haven't convinced you already, you're not going to be convinced, and you're certainly not about to convince me. Nothing to see here; move along.

Gleemax Terms of Use - Unacceptable

I've made my major points already, which I don't plan to comment on further, but I'd just like to point out that this is actually not exactly true. In a criminal case, the burden of proof is on the prosecutor. In a civil case, which this would be, the burden is shared. In additional, civil...

Gleemax Terms of Use - Unacceptable

Because they're desperate? In the example of the SCO vs. IBM case, SCO was failed UNIX producer. When their primary business failed, they turned into an IP company and tried to use poorly worded agreements to make broad claims about IBM's obligations to them. It was generally pretty obvious...

Gleemax Terms of Use - Unacceptable

I'm sure they're wonderful people. I'm not questioning them personally. However, it is quite common, in the tech industry, for example, for failed companies to sell off their intellectual assets to "companies" whose sole purpose is to exploit any lingering patents, copyrights, and license that...

Gleemax Terms of Use - Unacceptable

Patently false. I work as a computer programmer for a major silicon valley corporation. Like many of their engineering employees, I like to work on side projects in my free time, many of which I put up for free on the internet. Obviously my employer has concerns about me suing them if they...

Gleemax Terms of Use - Unacceptable

Well said! This is exactly the point I was making about the principle of least privilege. In computer security, the idea is that if each program is guaranteed to be operating at the lowest level of privilege needed to do its jobs, then even if it is co-opted by a malicious entity, it can do no...

Gleemax Terms of Use - Unacceptable

That's not my problem, is it? ;) In all seriousness, if your computer worked that way, our problems with virii and spyware would be hundreds of times worse than they already are. In fact, a lot of Windows' historical problems with security were due to a lack of least-privilege in the design...

Gleemax Terms of Use - Unacceptable

While I completely agree that this is the intent, the power you're actually giving them is significantly more than that. I, for one, am uncomfortable relying on unenforceable promises of good faith when I'm giving up significant rights. Let's consider a parallel in the US Bill of Rights: the...

    D&D 4E The Blood War in 4E?

You should read his storyhours, or his fiction on Planewalker. His Baernaloth short stories are amazing (in an evil way).

    D&D 4E The Blood War in 4E?

To some degree, I think this might be influenced by your gaming history. When I got into D&D at the beginning of 3e, I thought the Blood War was an awesome idea because it was completely original. I've read Paradise Lost and plenty of Good vs. Evil story. The Blood War is a unique take on the...

NOOOOOO!!! The Blood War is easily my favorite D&D-ism and has featured in all of my homebrews.

D&D 4E Which old setting would you like to see revamped for 4E?

    I desperately want a Planescape 4e, but I know it won't happen. :(

Could we please have a non evil/ammoral pact for Warlocks? :)

Wow. That's actually a perfect analogy for it. I'm amazed that nobody (including myself) saw it before.

Could we please have a non evil/ammoral pact for Warlocks? :)

I haven't followed the 4e Warlock too closely, but in 3.5e I thought the Warlock made a very good class for bloodline magic users. In that context, a good-themed warlock makes just as much sense as an evil one. I recall seeing variants on the WotC boards for fey, angelic, and aberration...

Having just watched 300, that image kind of makes me go play a Spartan! In all seriousness, though, I don't see what's objectionable about it. I mean, it's not as eye-candy-ish to me, a straight male, but it's certainly a reasonable phenotype for male fantasy heroes. I could imagine playing him.

    LOVE the New Covers!

I like most of the non-core-books ones. The ones shown today seem much more vibrant and feel like they draw you into the book. The ones for the PHB, DMG, and MM seem drab and boring by comparison.
