    Knowledge (local)

Suggestion would be to just increase the DCs. But if you look at the DCs right now.. they are defined by an easy question or hard question. Knowledge(local) for a peasant. Easy questions, just about everything about what people do in your local town. Major merchants of nearby cities. The...

What books do you use EVERY session?

For me, the DMG has always been a non-requirement for play. Any use is prior to the game.. writing down the stats for any magic item needed. And a little research for setup. But it has been rarely needed in 2nd and 3rd editions. It saw much more heavy use back in 1st edition.

    Origins 2004

I won't be getting there until probably Thursday evening. Not sure the time. Steve has me scheduled for a few panels. Otherwise I never really did schedule anything. I haven't been to Origins before so it is a wandering session.

    Skills that suck.

Funny thing is the character in my current compain.. a Ranger/Rogue is someone who is a skilled forger. Most rogue skills are utilized for that task. So decipher scipt and forgery are used heavily. I'm the one that translates the carvings on the stone. Spends days trying to translate books...

Improved TWF, Quickdraw and Thrown Weapons?

Well. Remember that Customer Service aren't rules lawyers. The 5 foot step is allowed before, after, or during actions. I think they were trying to restrict something that could feasibly be tried if you don't pay attention. That being... Throw dagger... 5 foot step in, and quick draw sword...

Improved TWF, Quickdraw and Thrown Weapons?

Slight problem with that... What do I do with the third dagger? At least thats my problem at this point. Figure later on I'll need to know what to do with the 4th and 5th one that returned to me. Extra probably end up on the floor. At the end of the combat I'll probably have a pile of...

    D&D 3.x Is farming still a Profession in 3.5 ?

Aye.. just like cooking is a profession and not a craft. What is more questionable is that if those two are examples of profession... is a vinter a craft or a profession? In my own personal viewpoint on things... many of the skills can be taken as craft, profession, or knowledge depending...

    Natural armor

Yes. In 3.5 it is specifically an enhancement bonus to natural armor.. and not a Natural Armor bonus. My guess is the reasoning for this is linked spells, and providing additional bonuses to your animal companions.

With all these guns .. Where are the bullets?

I was assuming it was on the Blackhammer website, but I couldn't find a direct link. http://www.ambient.ca/cpunk/

    The Guardian (new core class)

Don't compare it with the Toughness feat. There is a different type in Complete Warrior that gives 1 hp/level. So that would only be 1 feat, not 7.

Hide and Mv Silently skills are no more!

I've played in two campaigns now where characters that are really good with one of those skills is not good with another. My current character is a ranger/rogue. Knows disable device well... for sabotaguing things. He is a military person. But for open locks... he has a high strength. He...

    Awakened Animals, awakened offspring?

Well 250xp is a limiting factor... but not a highly limiting factor if that is the goal. I imagine the rest of the party might be advantaging a tad quicker than you. But at that point it is an investment. I can't see awakening hundreds. But you could do a dozen or so without doing more than...

    Awakened Animals, awakened offspring?

Considering those awakened horses were actually spirits of former heralds in those new forms, I don't think the Awaken spell is necessarily the way to go. But it does make for a good talking horse. Perhaps I'm mistaken, but how can books that involve rape, and other extreme hardships to...

    Taking 20 on Open Lock

I fully expect most rogues to take 10 or take 20 on an open locks. Although rarely on the search for traps. Think about how long it takes to do open locks normally? 1 round? Go how and count how long it takes you to open the lock on your door at home... with the keys!!!

Improved TWF, Quickdraw and Thrown Weapons?

Actually, assuming you are skilled enough not to loose your weapons after throwing them.. it is much cheaper not to get returning weapons. After all, the weapons only return after the round, so you need multiple ones anyway. But relaize you can get like 4 daggers +1, for every dagger +1 returning.

    Slayers D20

Yes, seems right considering that one of the characters has a spell that can summon a God that will utterly destroy the universe if they feel like it. An NPC that encases an entire megapolis in a single giant creature and can create undead type duplicates of anyone inside the crystal.

    Legal question - quotations

Not sued... but technically it is one of the requirements of the d20 license that you get permission on all of them.

    Imp Init for rogues?

I don't find it a must have. However many people like to play an untrafast character. Thrown weapons masters with quick draw will find improved initiative important for a roleplaying purpose.
