Nor should it be, but that's still a huge nerf from 1E when they were entitled that many attacks per segment of surprise. Ghouls are nasty. Working as intended.

If a dm didn't play the banshee to the best of it's ability, why is there even a banshee there? If you don't want the chance of pcs dying, don't use monsters with those abilities. Sounds like you want the CHANCE of pcs dying without it ever happening. You can't have it both ways.

It's not a problem, it's a feature.

Because at some future date, that wizard might color spray you to death and take all your stuff. Magic users kill to learn spells. Killing a scholar in his sleep is a hell of a lot easier than delving into the tomb of sharp nasty pointy teeth.

Yes. It's high time berserker and barbarian were divorced from one another. I'd also like to see a true berserk feature, with more drawbacks, a will save to avoid attacking party members, maybe.
