I voted Other. If 4e meets my approval, I will not care about any additional 3.x materials. That's not to say that I might not still try to run a lot of the stuff I have, but I won't be in the market for new materials. If 4e does not meet my fancy, then more adventures are my top choice...

I don't mind the idea of a clean-up, and at first was intrigued, however I do not particuarly like the ideas I have seen so far in the prelude to The Orc King and in the preview of A Grand History of the Realms.

I prefer a world in which humans are dominant. I like them to represent at least 50% of the average PC party, if not more. 3e got it right in this regard, I hope 4e does too.

We mostly eyeball it but will break out a ruler if its handy and there is a reason. I will continue to do this in 4e. The only time we generally use a grid is if we are using a pre-printed map or my Dwarven Forge pieces, which are come gridded.

I don't know about stupid, but they should feel pretty helpless, the troll is CR 5. ;)

You think so? To me it sounds like they are talking about some pretty extensive changes, even more so than any edition change so far.

My homebrew campaign is currently on hiatus while we play Red Hand of Doom, though the reason for the hiatus is really that I don't have enough time to do all the work for it anymore. So it might be a moot point. I think it's likely that adventure paths are pretty much the way of the future...

I usually eat 3 or so slices of pizza, and drink about 3 beers and a soda during the average evening game session. I am the DM, but the players seem to eat about the same.

I will third the recommendation for Savage Worlds. I am actually running D&D 3.5 myself, but that is mainly because I'm running Red Hand of Doom and don't want to deal with converting. I have played SW several times and have found it to be fast and fun.

I agree that D&D is steadily becoming more fantastic, but I doubt that the average person in 43 will have any magical abilities. The average PC classed character, maybe, but not the rest of the human population.

I hope that a 20th level 3.5 character is approximately equal to a 30th level 4.0 character, so that advancement is simply happening in smaller steps. I have no interest in increasing the power level similar to the current epic system, it's just not the style of gaming I look for in D&D.
