D&D General JMISBEST's questions. Most of them about campaign ideas that either he or A GM he knows has and wants to know what people think

Checking the D&D3.5 Monster Manual a young Silver Dragon is only size M, whereas a T-Rex is size H, two sizes above them; the fourteen parents who are going to be adult dragons which are size H. That's still a lot of hungry mouths to feed. One other thing I hadn't considered is that silver...

What Property That Has Never Had A TTRPG Adaptation Deserves one?

How much mulch would unsold copies make? :-)

D&D General JMISBEST's questions. Most of them about campaign ideas that either he or A GM he knows has and wants to know what people think

The old Council Of Wyrms supplement has a clutch of 2-4 silver dragon eggs, so by my rough calculations you'd need 14.5 dragons to lay that number of eggs.

D&D General JMISBEST's questions. Most of them about campaign ideas that either he or A GM he knows has and wants to know what people think

I did say unlikely but I do take your point. Which does lead me down a rather unpleasant scenario. A polymorphed silver dragon manages to influence a neighbouring kingdom into attacking. Then once the battle is over, being victorious the smallest kingdom on the planet decimates the aggressors...

D&D General JMISBEST's questions. Most of them about campaign ideas that either he or A GM he knows has and wants to know what people think

Studying my venerable D&D 3.5 Monster Manual the silver dragon is of LG alignment, which means the chances of the kingdom being able to expand through warfare is unlikely. The same era DMG does state that a society like that has a codified set of laws that the population willingly follows...

How much math should RPGs require?

I respectfully disagree, this is the finest calculator known: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Curta :-)

    Grade the Basic Roleplaying System

I am a fan of the BRP system and CoC. I've always liked the roll under percentile mechanics which really help me as a GM, I can just ask people to make an appropriate roll and keep the game flowing.

D&D General JMISBEST's questions. Most of them about campaign ideas that either he or A GM he knows has and wants to know what people think

I'm thinking that very soon those silver dragons are going to consume the kingdom. I'd have a look here at an approximate amount of calories required by a T-Rex https://what-if.xkcd.com/78/

Nibiru sci fi forgotten memory sci fi rpg on bundle of holding.

I bought it as it looks cool and there's an audio book of the core rulebook in the bundle.

How much math should RPGs require?

Back in the day I used to run games with Phoenix Command as I thoughts greater realism would make for exciting gaming. I even wrote a small program on a Casio pocket computer to handle the complex calculations. Nowadays I prefer rules light games so I can get on with the fun.

How much math should RPGs require?

Was this the game? Enforcers I'd never heard of it until now and it sounds unusual.

Terminator RPG -- anyone have it?

Looking through my book it seems that the RPG establishes it's own timeline, which makes it easier than trying to reconcile all the alternative time lines from the franchise.

    RPG Evolution: The Immortals

So far I have only had one player pass on. I have his character sheet for the short time we played together and it's in a folder with the other characters for the game. After his death we abandoned the game and moved on to something else. I did however reclaim his dice, including the set I...

How Should RPG Books Be Organized - on your shelf?

By Library of Congress classification of course. Just kidding, at the moment it's mostly where I have space for books. Unless it's Call of Cthulhu where I have a couple of shelves dedicated to the game.

    Ravenloft in Space!

That was one book I always wanted to purchase and years later I bought one at Dragonmeet. I learned from the seller that it was from the original print run and he still had a box of them remaining. I guess he was from 23rd Parallel Games.

    Grade the Megaversal/Palladium System

I had fun with some of the games in the past. Thanks to the copy and paste layouts of the books it was fairly easy to get to grips with the different versions of the systems. These days I'd probably use a different system if I was to replay them but wanted to keep the background.

TSR The Full & Glorious History of NuTSR

One of my all time favourites is the reply in Arkell v. Pressdram 1971. I know it's a letter sent in England but it still gets the odd mention over here . The reply is not suitable for this site but can be widely found if you search for it.

    Grade The D6 System

The first iteration of the game I played was Ghostbusters and it still is a fantastic game. Not only did the mechanics fit the feel of the story but the equipment cards really rounded out the whole package. Oh and the Ghost die was really cool.

    Random Geek Media Trivia Thread

A few years ago I had Anthony Daniels sign my VHS copying of So I bought a vampire motorcycle. In the film his character is a priest who has to perfect an exorcism. So Anthony explains to me that he found a priest in South Kensington to translate "show me the way to home home, I'm tired and I...
