WotC Brand New D&D Video Game from WotC's New Acquisition Tuque Games

True, true. What irks me is when the development studio with a record of making great games is now owned by a parent company with deep pockets that's running things by artificial deadlines. But I admit that is far from every situation. Edit: and I sincerely hope not this situation. Hasbro...

WotC Brand New D&D Video Game from WotC's New Acquisition Tuque Games

They laid the marketing spin on real think in this story. At the core this will only succeed if the folks at Tuque are passionate about making high quality D&D games, not trying to push out a AAA game. Which in all fairness could be the case, but I've no way of knowing for sure. After all...

What are your favorite (and least favorite) Star Wars sequences or scenes?

I think the original trilogy had a lot of passive menace in Vader. ESB in particular it's like I can feel his barely controlled rage. The end of Rogue one showed just how terrifying it would be for a non-force user to have to battle that menace. I loved it.

What are your favorite (and least favorite) Star Wars sequences or scenes?

Also my number one. The music, the silhouettes, the emotion in Luke as he starts kicking the crap out of Vader, his rejection of the dark side, and what that wrought in his father all with Palpatine's delightful evil spread through it all. It was extremely thrilling and moving.

Obsidian and The Outer Worlds expose Bethesda as the frauds they are and have been

Before this becomes a thread completely about semantics (like all threads do) I will say Obsidian has given me better Bioware fantasy style games than Bioware is giving these days with Pillars of Eternity, and now a better Fallout style game than Bethesda is giving me these days. They...

    The Mandalorian Trailer 2

That looks like a Trailer I could pretty much recreate with with toys I still have in boxes (I have a veritable wretched hive of scum and villainy from when I was a kid) and a little paint. Which is to say I'm sold.

What should we do with the Seventh Edition?

Has anyone mentioned esports? Gotta have esports in 7E

What should we do with the Seventh Edition?

It's obvious that WotC will want to go in a bold new direction. Dungeons & Dragons 7E will lack dungeons and dragons.

D&D General Which ability score would you like to increase to 18 in real life?

Even as you get older you might care less about longevity, but you'll care more about relief from everyday aches, pains, and injures. Any 75 year old would go for a sure fire way to make them feel 60 again much less 40 or 30. Not because they would live longer, but because they would live...

    Dread Isn't for Everyone

Agreed. The Dread mechanic encourages players to not do risky things (for risk of the tower falling) or worse not do things at all. In a one shot this isn't such a big deal as people will just play as they have always played, but long term people start to game systems, and this is one of the...

D&D General Which ability score would you like to increase to 18 in real life?

Take diabetes off the table then. Magically making oneself more resistant to dying is going to have broad appeal to many human beings.

D&D General What “hit points” is?

@Hriston nice delve into the history! In 5e at least it also seems to be a measure of your ability to avoid the "Unconscious" condition. So I like to reframe it as a measure of one's ability to move and fight (or otherwise act) and leave it at that. I agree with the rest of your reasoning.

D&D General Which ability score would you like to increase to 18 in real life?

Just a snowball effect I am sure. One person talks about Diabetes, then a few more chime in. Note: Cancer has also been mentioned by about as many users as Diabetes has. Also note: we have more cases of Cancer and Diabetes these days because fewer people are dying from heart failure than 20...

D&D General Which ability score would you like to increase to 18 in real life?

Oh 31. That was the age I was when I got my diabetes diagnosis. The same week my oldest was born too so I'll always remember.

D&D General Which ability score would you like to increase to 18 in real life?

Absolutely true! This hits home for me. I took a couple Latin/Swing/Ballroom classes in college. I was dancing about 15 hours a week. I lost weight and gained quite a bit of confidence. Between those two gains and the endorphins you get from exercise it was very helpful with my depression...

D&D General Which ability score would you like to increase to 18 in real life?

Oh I'm hardly an authority. If anyone did ask my advice I would say follow whatever type of exercise that inspires you to exercise. By all accounts aerobic exercise is the best for reducing blood sugar levels overall, but I pretty much can't stand it. But doing exercise that involve lifting...
