Firefly is actually current. Though still waiting for the book to come out. I also never saw Alternity being cut because it "wasn't D&D" as much as Wizards dropped it in favor of Star Wars. Which you have to admit is a much more popular sci-fi setting for them to have worked with.

I've looked over it and noticed it only goes to lvl 5 I believe. Is that the cap or is there plans to release more books for this game? If it is a one shot game that is awesome, but if not it would be nice to know if there are other books planned.

I definitely think this is a way to test the water for a 2nd edition. It will allow them to incorporate many of the changes that have come about in the recent past few years that could improve Pathfinder without taking the big step. If the players like it and it is a hit then they can jump in...

This is amazing news. Probably one of the best decisions they've made in a while. I think the best thing they could do once they have an initial complete basic book compiled is make it available as print on demand. If they mark it up a couple dollars over print cost they won't scare people...

I agree with this. It's fresh, limited books to work with and has the ability to cross multiple genres, depending how it is ran. Add in the options for the weird and Cthuhlu angle and you can have an edgy vibe that will strike extra cords.

The original Farscape RPG was good, but I think d20 was a poor match up for it. It deserves its own system or a more open form. Maybe modified Fate or Cortex.

Layout has been one of the main beefs I have with the game too. It is by far the worst part of the game design. Otherwise you are correct on all the good stuff.
