D&D General D&D adventure set in London

Great movie of course, but it could have included scenes in the London areas of Barking and the Isle of Dogs!

D&D General D&D adventure set in London

Fair point to warn, though I'm an actual Londoner and I was fine with it as a D&D adventure. I do remember the city of Pitts Burke (or similar spelling) in the old Gamma Word setting as quite amusing, especially as my wife is a Steelers fan.

A few things I really like about WFRP

Having had the pleasure of playing in Rob's awesome Enemy Within campaign, I would wholeheartedly recommend anyone who wants a great WFRP experience to join this game. @TheSword is a superb GM, as well as a lovely person.

Do you remember your first RPG purchase?

I remember the display case too! The Shepherd's Bush Road "shop" was in a back garden, before they opened the Dalling Road actual shop in Hammersmith. In those days, my best life was school rugby in the morning, into London to Games Workshop or Minifigs-Skytrex near Victoria (Gillingham Street...

D&D General How Long Did You Play Only D&D Before Trying Another Game

Started with D&D back in the late 1970s, whilst still at school, and after a few months tried Chivalry & Sorcery, Runequest, Bifrost and Gamma World. Still playing D&D though.

D&D General grodog's Top 10 Favorite Greyhawk Adventures

Great list; thanks for sharing. Personally, I rank Tharizdun, Tsojcanth, ToH and Dwellers in the Forbidden City close to the top. I'm also a big fan of Steading of the Hill Giant Chief.

Goodman Games Revives Relationship With Anti-Semitic Publisher For New City State Kickstarter [UPDATED]

For me, the solution isn't perfect but it's good enough in the circumstances. I like to think there might be an additional side benefit, in that Bledsaw Jr will be aware of the righteous anger both here and on other sites, and that it has created a symbolic punch in the face. He will hate the...

Goodman Games Revives Relationship With Anti-Semitic Publisher For New City State Kickstarter [UPDATED]

What is the thought process within GG that works with Jennel Jacquays to produce two brilliant products and then flips to thinking that it's OK to work with a person like Bledsaw Jr, who spews the worst kind of hate? Like, how do you make that cognitive plunge into the abyss?

Goodman Games Revives Relationship With Anti-Semitic Publisher For New City State Kickstarter [UPDATED]

Today is VE Day. A reminder, if we needed one, that Nazism must be fought with every means possible. The same applies to Neo Nazism, as espoused by the likes of Bledsaw Jr That fight is not limited to economic means, but it certainly includes them.

D&D 5E (2014) If you could run or play in any D&D 5e campaign right now, which would it be?

I'm currently playing in Dungeons of Drakkenheim and it's absolutely awesome. I'm also playing in WFRP Enemy Within, and that is equally great. Big thanks to fellow poster @TheSword for running both games. As far as my wishlist goes; I'm planning to run Dark Tower or Caverns of Thracia after my...

D&D 5E (2024) OAR 10 City State of the Invincible Overlord

I'll be following this with interest, and supporting it as long as Bledsaw Jr is in no way involved. I lost a character battling the Witches of Marmon in the Wilderlands (in around 1981), so any chance to go back will be welcomed!

    Magazines White Dwarf Reflections #18

I enjoyed the Halls of Tizun Thane adventure, and generally liked a lot of the stuff that Albie Fiore did for the game in these early days (to show how early, I was 17 then, I'm 62 now!)

    Magazines White Dwarf Reflections #17

I always liked that cover art. Not necessarily for technical artistic merit, but its evocative nature; the skeletal remains of a spacefarer, centimeters from a first aid kit, and what (to me) looks like the ghostly apparition of a dying spaceship behind them. It gives off a haunting "what is the...

Black Powder And Brimstone Offers A Stylish Religious War To Finish

Looks interesting. Might be worth re-reading Moorcock's "Warhound and the World's Pain" to get that 30 Years War (plus demons) vibe.

Do Tariffs Apply To RPG Books? Maybe, Maybe Not!

I used to travel extensively in the USA, both for work and pleasure, and have been fortunate enough to visit all 50 beautiful states, meet so many great people and see amazing things, but I won't be returning all the time that a certain person is President. I do appreciate that this is purely...

Do Tariffs Apply To RPG Books? Maybe, Maybe Not!

It's hard to make any sense of his constant flip-flopping on tariffs and exemptions, which would be just an observation of incompetence if it didn't impact so many people's lives. The old saying after 1929 that "when America sneezes, the world catches cold" remains the case sadly, for all of us...

D&D General What Bits of History Inspire Your Homebrew Setting?

Slightly tangential as it's not directly about inspiring my homegrown setting, but I'm blessed to live close to a number of historical sites and I've played RPGs in at least three of them, which is very atmospheric and inspiring. Specifically the ruined castles at Thurnham and Sutton Valence...
