D&D General BG3 Massive Spoiler Thread

God I did this by accident in my first play through, with my main character cleaving and accidentally hitting her. It was hilarious how everything went to absolute crap so quickly, with Jaheria just aghast that you could let this happen.

D&D General BG3 Massive Spoiler Thread

Yea, it was set up in a way to make you consider pushing a legit option. If I recall, the way I did it was have Wyll Eldritch Blast as many people off ledge as he could while running to get Astarion, Gale cast Otto’s Dance on the lich mage, and my main character challenge Cazador to a Duel.

D&D General BG3 Massive Spoiler Thread

I don’t think I could have won the Cazador right if it weren’t for push. I definitely could not have saved Astarion. Come to think of it, that was my hardest fight in the game.

That’s so bad ass, super super cool. I want to romance her the second time around, she grew on me as the game progressed.

D&D General BG3 Massive Spoiler Thread

I think I just went mad with pushing power and pushed everyone into the lava in that fight. Man, what a great game.

D&D General Industry Veteran Jennell Jaquays Passes

Her Savage Frontier is one of the best rpg books I’ve ever read. May she rest in peace.

AD&D 1E Forgotten Realms in AD&D 1st Edition a better setting for adventures?

I’ve spent the last few weeks reading the gray box, the yellow box, and now am on 3rd edition campaign setting book. Loving tracing the progression of the Realms and how they were written about. Really neat. I forgot that the 3rd edition book really emphasizes the Heartlands.

What do you think of these OSR systems?

Been meaning to check out Castles and Crusaders. Something about it seems real intriguing, even though I know next to nothing about it and only have seen art that I dig.

    D&D 5E (2014) We Would Hate A BG3 Campaign

There’s a scene in act two where you can convince a boss to allow himself to be basically eaten alive. It’s an amazing moment, and one I’ve never seen repeated at the table.

    D&D 5E (2014) We Would Hate A BG3 Campaign

So how would you run the Auntie Ethel hag encounters? Both were a lot of fun, and the second one surprised the heck out of me!

    Just saw Delicious in Dungeon

Just started the manga of this the other day, absolutely fantastic. This was someone’s homebrew, for sure.

Um, to get off my hobby horse for a second, World of Warcraft most definitely has dwarves?

    D&D 5E (2014) We Would Hate A BG3 Campaign

I think a thing that tables have a hard time pulling off is talking their way out of combat. BG3 does this to great effect, especially in act 2. I’ve never really seen it done otherwise. Thoughts?

    D&D 5E (2014) We Would Hate A BG3 Campaign

I don’t think you could adequately pull off the Dribbles quest line at the table. The whole Bhaal cult thing seems next to impossible to put on the table. Thoughts?

    D&D 5E (2014) We Would Hate A BG3 Campaign

Moonrise Towers would be tricky to do as well, if done right. Mixture of dungeon crawl and massive set piece battles. Would need a really good DM.

    D&D 5E (2014) We Would Hate A BG3 Campaign

I really don’t see how you could do the last battle in the upper city via tabletop, just too many moving pieces.

    D&D 5E (2014) We Would Hate A BG3 Campaign

Man, I was originally excited to talk about why BG3 wouldn’t make a good DnD module in 2024, but instead people are arguing about Dragonborn? Cmon, what year is it, 2008?

    D&D 5E (2014) Do we need a Fifth Edition Revival (5ER)?

I run Kobold Press written modules almost exclusively at this point. They have some really good stuff! And actually care about lore! Weird, I know.

WotC: 'We made a mistake when we said an image not AI'

Getting harder and harder to defend “ai art” as anything but theft.

    D&D 5E (2014) We Would Hate A BG3 Campaign

Having just beaten BG3 last night, there is no way at all that WotC would publish an adventure like that—why too complex and morally gray a story. Can you imagine current day WotC, which is terrified of an always online small minority, allowing you to slaughter the entire Druid’s Grove like you...
