There's also the 4C System out there.

How do you like your game?

    Hell, yes.

I'm not even sure it has to be more like the OGL. It just needs to not include language that gives WotC 100% control over a publisher's products. There is nothing stopping WotC from destroying any company that uses the GSL. The very fact that the GSL language is written the way that it is makes...

Goodman Games Releasing 4e Adventures Prior to October 1st

Note that the issue was with custom figures and material based on IP, not material based on the Heroscape mechanics.

Goodman Games Releasing 4e Adventures Prior to October 1st

PI is OGL-speak and has nothing to do with US copyright or trademark law. I can't see any answer except following copyright law. If the GSL was a useful document, I would expect publishers to use it. As it is, though, I fully expect publishers to ignore the GSL and proceed down the path of...

Do you want online PDF scenarios (D&D,WFRP,PF,etc.) in Landscape or Portrait layout?

I used landscape for years and after enough complaints I switched to portrait. Personally, I prefer landscape. The market, at the time, preferred portrait.

I don't think it would be difficult to create a system that's compatible with 4e and stay well within copyright limitations. There's no need to use the trademark, for example, when "4e" is enough for the customer base to understand.

Yes. They lose the free marketing and sense of community. And these days, online, community is very important.

No plans at this time. My work at SJGames eats most of my time, so I rarely have time to devote to personal projects.

If the GSL had been a reasonable document, publishers would just use it. As it is, more publishers are looking at what they can legally do without using the license that WotC released. That's how the GSL has backfired.

Writing Jobs in the industry? How and where?

Watch the open calls on various sites. Write short bits and either sell them as PDFs (which, while not difficult, is a completely different type of work) or just post for free. Practice, obviously, is very important and there's no better way to learn than to post material and read feedback from...

Long, hard work in the writing mines. There is no fast way.

    Mike Mearls On the OGL

And not alone, if I'm reading the signs properly. Now that I see 4e is a non-option for projects, I'm watching Pathfinder very closely. So far, I like what I'm seeing.

    Mike Mearls On the OGL

I wanted to. Hell, I still want to write a PDF of new zones. These days, though, I don't really have time for many projects.

You reap what you sow - GSL.

Personally, I have about two dozen products that use OGC from Tome of Horrors. Easily one of the best books on any OGL-based author's shelf.

GSL: Am I wrong to be concerned?

Until a point at which the license is updated and specifically disallows those types of products. That's one of my big issues with the license. You agree not only to this license, but any future version of the license.

    4e D&D GSL Live

Yes. And a simple letter could force you to destroy your existing stock/remove the PDF from sale. And they could wait and send this letter after your product hits your warehouse. This license is the best tool WotC has created to combat direct competition. Anyone signing the agreement and using...
