    D&D 5E (2014) What is Quality?

I've read bits of this thread. There seems to be confusion between people (or even yourself) enjoying something and that thing being of quality. There's products (novels, books, etc) that I deeply enjoy even though I know they're not high quality. And there's the opposite, products of great...

What lessons did you learn from other systems?

I was thinking about the other thread about our buying habits for RPG products; and tonight I just finished my second session ever of Forbidden Lands and I was reflecting on what I found difficult, easy, good, bad and what I learned from my experience. I'm sure we all pulled some lessons or...

    Buying to not use

I won't lie, buying games became my way of compensating for not being able to play them during the first two years of the pandemic, so I kind of broke my own rules. But here's my list, do not that some of these categories overlap. There's games I intend to run. My bookcase is full of them. I...

    Does TSR3 Have Nazi Connections?

I can understand individuals having certain experiences, or upbringings and ending up have a disdain against a specific group. You don't excuse it, you don't approve it, but you can rationally understand. But I honestly cannot fathom being so full of hate against so many people. The amount of...

    D&D 5E (2014) Don't make the game too weird

It's easier to get add weirdness into your game as it progresses and remove some. So I'd say, start with a more conservative scenario and simply poll them after each session to make sure the level of weirdness is good.

    Twitter is a poor place

I took a full day to ponder on this and talked with an anglophone colleague of mine. He echoed what you said. And now that I'm thinking back on it, it absolutely was too strong of a statement. It wasn't my intention to come off like this, but it's still what happened and what I projected. I...

    Twitter is a poor place

Then what does it mean? My understanding is that being disingenuous is making statement or acting by putting aside relevant information that you do know. I guess it could be viewed as a form of dishonesty? Like I'd tell someone is disingenuous if they omit some relevant information that they...

    Twitter is a poor place

Given that what I covered is neither social medias nor just straight investing, I don't see the problem. I didn't leave half of it. He didn't just pump his inherited wealth like most wealth investors do. As I said, what he does and does well is much more strategic in nature. My reply is a...

    Twitter is a poor place

He's not my favorite person, but it's disingenous to say he's only good at social medias. Much of his success has been from smart business moves, notably shifting technology and knowledge between different product lines to jump ahead technology or fix inherent problems. Putting the rockets...

    Games with "terrible" follow-up editions

The layout of the core rulebook especially is really bad. I saw something compare it to the layout in a fashion magazine and I see it now. It's really, really bad. Good for casually reading through, terrible for using at the table. I've found the latest releases by Renegade Studios to be a...

    Games with "terrible" follow-up editions

I got into Vampire the Masquerade during the last two years. I know the new edition (called V5) has been pretty controversial. Partially for some mechanical decisions, but mostly for some updates to its lore. It made me really hesitant because unlike the most recent Shadowrun editions that...

A Review of Second Inquisition? Let's Begin!

Do we know if they'll be mostly exactly the same in term of content of they'll be significant changes?

A Review of Second Inquisition? Let's Begin!

I stopped by my local gamestore and bought it following this review! It's been a good reading so far. While being on the topic of VTM, are they reprinting Cults of the Blood Gods? I've seen it for pre-order on Renegade Studios website, but I remember it already releasing last year. Was it a...

Ironsworn: Starforged PDF just landed at DriveThruRPG

I looked into Ironsworn a while ago, but the name of the product and some other things I can't remember stopped me from diving deeper. Can you sell me on it?

Check Out These Bladerunner RPG Previews

Bad layout is easily noticeable. I do agree that a whole range of it, from adequate to good is invisible. But great layout design is definitely noticeable, if not only in contrast with other products you own.

Modiphius Announce COHORS CTHULHU--Cthulhu in Ancient Rome!

I have lost count to show many Cthulhu games there are. I wouldn't know what to buy if I wanted to run something with that mythology!

Pathfinder 2E Paizo Officially Supporting Foundry, Free Content Ending

I've had my own experience with suicide. My went through my whole childhood with three friends, two of which were brothers. The older one ended his life in 2012, and I dreamed of him the night prior and tried to reconnect a few days later to learn the news. It was really though and one way to...

What did you study in college?

In Quebec we have another school level between High School and college. I studied Computer Science for two years. Then I did a bachelor composed of a minor in Video Game Studies and a major in English Literature. Following that, I got a second cycle specialized degree in Game Design.

Payn's Ponderings... Top 10 Essential Albums

Heilung is a one of a kind band for me. There's definitely others in the same genre; but it has a very unique place in my musical library. It's music that has little value in being understood and is almost entirely felt. It evokes very primal feelings inside me. I find it incredibly therapeutic...
