    D&D 5E (2014) meeting your 5e character: a 4d6 poll

Let the dice fall where they fall. Been doing that for 30 years. We tried other methods and didnt care for em.

    Weapon Proficiency: All or nothing?

Or do it like RQ and make weapon proficiencies into skills (Heavy Blades, Light Blades, etc). Or like the Dragon Age RPG from Green Ronin, weapons basically function as skills/specialties there with as well. Might be too "un-DnD" however.

What a steaming pile of otyugh feces!

I feel like Acererak the demi-lich in the original Tomb of Horrors right after he kills the last party member.....happy and content...but wanting more.

They are serious about ending expected wealth by level!

Must spread XP apparently, but I agree with ya on all of this.

    [Playtest 2] Weapons and Armor

I'm pretty sure a Dex penalty still applies in heavy armor (even if they forgot to spell it out in the rules). Would be kinda stupid for a Dex 6 fighter to suddenly become more agile/nimble/dextrous because he donned his suit of platemail.

    (Level-Up Rewards) How?

No thanks. Too structured to shoehorn all the classes into it. May fall into the 4e samey samey trap.

    Best Initiative System?

I prefer the declare your actions + roll every round like in pre-3.x editions. Adds to the chaos of combat.

    Eric "Shade" Jansing (1971-2012)

Damn that sucks. My thoughts are with his family. I was just thinking about Shade the other day. Stumbled across a couple of old emails from him. What the heck happened? And yeah, 40 is too young.

Mike Mearls Hook Horror Formating and Notation

No no no. Especially no on the way ya split ability scores up. While not enamored with the play test format, it's function. Keep the stats and such grouped together with the descriptions of its SA and SQ below. Much cleaner.

Separating Attack and Utility Spell Slots

    D&D 5E (2014) My New 5E Raise Dead Spell

How about.... When the cleric casts a raise dead spell, he or she can restore life to a humanoid creature. The length of time which the person has been dead is of importance, as the cleric can raise dead persons only up to a certain point, the limit being 1 day for each level of experience of...

    Bounded Accuracy L&L

Hacking it to pieces should be different than breaking it down. Break DC should be for unhinging and shattering the door through brute force. AC, hp, hardness, whatever should be for when the PCs want to chop it to pieces. Another alternative since we are fascinated with doors. Tie the halfling...

D&D 5E (2014) The cover of the 5E PHB: What I'd like to see

You left out the dragon-riding halflings with gatling guns mounted on their undersides (the dragons, not the halflings).

    Bounded Accuracy L&L

Most probably don't. It was a joke. As DM, unless there was something special about said door, a 20th-level fighter could chop through it with an axe in my game. No door stats needed, and no attack roll or damage roll needed. Player says "I chop down the door"....few rounds later, said door is...

The Ogre Killed the Dwarf in 3 Rounds

Exactly. Sounds pretty balanced to me.
