    D&D 5E (2014) Volo's Guide to Monsters: General Discussion.

Even if it does, I bet it doesn't smell like the old 1E books.

    Preview VOLO'S GUIDE TO MONSTERS

No idea. We just came up with a list of monsters we wanted to do in the first Tome, secured permission from them to include and OGC them, and that was that.

    Preview VOLO'S GUIDE TO MONSTERS

Shouldn't be any issue with reusing the monsters from Tome (any of them). We "open sourced" all of them, including the ones we got permission from WotC to use. It's all in each of the Open Content declarations in each of them. About the only thing we didn't open source was the artwork and title...

    ORCUS! EXCLUSIVE! ESCAPIST!

We did it in Tome that way on purpose. No IP issues IIR. We had permission as he was on the list of 1e/2e stuff we asked to convert and OGC.

    Agreed.

    D&D 5E (2014) Would you change a monster's hit points mid-fight?

Yep. I've done it, plenty of times. Dropped them when the fight was going on too long or maybe a TPK was on the horizon and it was too early for such a thing. I've also jacked them up when the fight seemed like it was going to end too soon or the party seemed to be cake-walking through the...

    C&Ds for Online D&D 5E Character Generators

No doubt. I don't even know how/why they'd be interested or concerned with a PF generator.

    C&Ds for Online D&D 5E Character Generators

Looks like Pathguy's notice was updated. He was forced to pull down the Pathfinder generator as well. (Ignore if it as already mentioned; I was trying to skip over the sidetracks in this thread.)

    D&D 5E (2014) Fan work policy?

Actually, SKR was the one that came in and helped fix the TSR internet crap, wasn't he? It was Rob Repp that would've sent the nasty-grams out and stuff (because it was his job not because he enjoyed it I would imagine).

D&D 5E (2014) Do you allow adult situations in your games?

All of the players IMC are adults and since our game was influenced by Conan, Elric, Tanith Lee, Witch World, then yep. If the kids play, we either play a one-off game or the players play other characters in the same campaign and we tone all of the below down or eliminate it (mostly). But in...

    Fifth Edition Foes Monster Book

Yep this. We got permission from WotC way back before we did Tome 1 to do the monsters they didn't and to release them all, including name, description, etc as open content.

    Fifth Edition Foes Monster Book

Here's what Clark said back before we released Tome 1... Clark Peterson : "First Edition is the cover of the old DMG (Dungeon Masters Guide) with the City of Brass; it is Judges Guild; it is Type IV demons not Tanaari and Baatezu; it is the Vault of the Drow not Drizzt Do'urden; it is the Tomb...

    D&D 5E (2014) Werewolf Damage Immunity Question

THat's how it was in 1e. They could only be hit by +1 or better magic weapons or silver weapons.

I kinda like the Icy Delusions and Frozen Flesh abilities for frost giants.

    D&D 5E (2014) Rethinking Attributes

If you're giving magic its own attribute why not combat/fighting as well? Wwhy leave it tied to Str and Dex? That way you could have an average Strength PC/NPC/monster who's good at combat.

Good call. I completely forgot about the oozes when I was perusing the MM earlier.
