Speaking on GOT/ASOIAF If make the social pillar better. I'd nerf tongues and make a common language for each "plane". So you'd go out your way to have Common + the 4 other "Common"s in your party.

Gnomes are low on the popularity list because mechanically they are weak and their default cultures are not cultures that you can either inject into most stories or interact in as incomers experiencing a new society. Now if gnomes had giant mech hidden by illusions around there small villages...

I don't believe how TSR, WOTC, & Most fantasy dungeon games Coltrane gnomes and halflings having a point. But there are inklings in both gnomes and halflings that are often missing in many games that could be played up and then enhanced in those species. Gnomes naturally have a craft Link in...

My personal stance is that halflings and gnome actually don't share that much other than being. Halflings literally are small humans and that's the problem. Homes are there on thing. So in order to really together halfling and gnomes you would have to really lose a lot from. That's why to me...

I don't think every species needs a sub. Common goblins and hobgoblins are too different. Orcs don't have a natural biological separation in subculture .

I don't trust talent trees because I almost have never seen any designer in video games card games or tabletop games dude talent tree well the first time. You are basically asking for something broken. You would basically be ceding 6E to be broken

Funny thing I have a stock enemy NPC villain in my games that is a human mage. And all of the Foreign Mage's spells are Foreigner songs. Hot Blooded is fireball Cold as Ice is ice storm Double Vision is blur Urgent is misty step Long Way From Home is banishment I could never get a spell for...

I'd do something similar Each class would go in a category: Adept (aka Gish), Mage, Priest, Scoundrel, Warrior, or Other. Bob chooses to be a Warrior. Bob is a level 1 Warrior. Each category would have a Basic class of the same name. Those classes would have only a few features and only...

That's how I would do it And delay subclass to level 5. The big issue is two fold. 1)PCs get too many features too early. 2)When PCs get to high levels where they need to get features of high level tropes, they are so flooded with features you can't add more. A barbarian gets TEN features at...

More on the community who demands cool buttons and features early which makes creating and understanding character sheets passed level 3 too difficult for may players and DM to opt to run and start early. 95% of dungeon crawler RPGs when trying to make a higher power PC you either get A) A...

Boosting. Or was it Buffing? One of those. IMHO as long as we stick to the (Score-10)/2 system, we have to artificially buff Fighter stats. ESPECIALLY if we keep "Attack with your Spellcasting mod" attack features.

Depends on the edition and array. In older editions, you only got a great benefit from your prim ability score. In modern editions, you can get great benefit from moderately good scores and supplementing/boating with spells. So it all depends on the calculation.

It's been a possible issue since early D&D. Clerics were always close to Fighters in defense. It was always DM leaning on treasure and a policy of giving the Fighters first dibs on armor which kept in minor. But the overt hidden bias for warriors has diminish with every year in multiple RPGs.

HD healing add Con mod but it it's added to your max HP unless you have the Tough feature. Plus Con saves and returning Endurance skill.

In modern D&D isn't only 1-2 AC more and 1-3 HP more per level. Clerics wear the same armor and are only 1 HP lighter. That's the bigger deal. Fighters aren't that much tougher unless the DM helps them.

Question? Is HD matching class level a must? Could we cut Con mod to HP (by default, make it a feat/species feature)? Then make level 1 in classes 3 HD? So a level 1 fighter has 3d10 HP. 16HP level 1 cleric has 3d8 HP. 13HP level 1 rogue has 3d6 HP. 10 HP level 1 wizard has 3d4 HP. 7HP. 1HD...

Unfortunately, that is not true for a majority of tables. Tables don't run enough encounters for that and fighters aren't tough enough for it. DMs don't want to be forced to have 6 encounters and of long rest. Players don't want to be forced to wait through 30 turns for each ally per long rest...

To me. The Battlemaster is more a maneuver user. Where the Warlord has an Aura/Emanation that grants allies who are in on The Plan new actions, Maneuvers, or Masteries. I Knock em Down Hard vs We Knock em All Down

They really could go Regular Human and have half elves and half orcs and mutants and x-men as new Variant Human.
