Damn... Rich Baker and Monte consistis the 2/3 of my designers dream team. If they put Zeb Cook in the "utopian" project too then i can be a happy man who expects the awesome! :P
Dungeons & Dragons Roleplaying Game Official Home Page - Article (Rule-of-Three: 05/01/2012)
So we have
i) theme - feats
ii) rogue skills
iii) monster advancement
Reading the first question i have to say that i become a too disappointed. Having the themes to be just a feat delivery system...
Thank you for the info and yes sounds fun.
I am wondering if a fight takes too long whith all these calculations/charts. (The clasical problem of these kind of combat mechanics). I always found em attractive in way. Probably because my first roleplaying game was Middle Earth Role Playing game...
Can you give a bit feedback for that fighter in comparison with the dnd and the one they want to playtest?
From these words i find the fighting system you mention quite intersting.
Am I the only one that thinks that these are the same design goals with 4e fighter? :P
I don't know if it is good or bad that considering that my playing style as dm differs greatly from the 4e mentality.
However, although i have concluded that i don't like 4e anymore, i enjoyed very much...
I vote for warlocks too. Although i don't like much 4e i find them as the best -fluff wise - class of the edition. The pact thing offers so many role playing and plot possibilities!
Is there such a problem? Isn't supposed to play the game if not with your friends but at least with a friendly group. I am playing dnd at least 20 years and never was such an issue among my players. In my gaming group we have players who didn't like 4e but they play it because of the dm. The...
Oh, I am not excited. I don't even play PF at the moment (I never have played PF actually).
I just found it very interesting that a couple of days after his departure from wizards to have a dinner with the head of the major competitor company.
I am betting also that Eric proposed Monte a work...
No... he is the right one. I know Zeb Cook co-created Planescape (and only for that i consider him as my favorite designer).
Monte Cook contributed to some excelent Planescape books like Dead Gods and Inner Planes. :)
You can always follow Monte if you want.
I ll do it. He is responsible for some great works outhere (like planescape).
And a bit of gossip which this might mean something or it is just pure coincidence: According to Monte's tweet, yesterday had a dinner with Eric Mona (Pathfinder). :)
I never mentioned anything from these things. I said that the course of the development of 5e will change and so will change the playtest since it is part of that development.
I will never claim that the future game will be bad or broken because the designers are high skilled professionals...
Iosue: Thanks for the link. I was not aware of that.
However since wizards agree too that their polls are not valid, i fail to see their practical use. Mearls says that the polls are something like a panel but frankly i can't see how they work that way.
I think at the moment the polls mostly...
Exactly this.
However what we have here is actually an advertisment of 4e opinions, since we agreed that the polls are taken mostly from 4e players. So, this is done in porpuse or not? For example lets take the healing surge poll. We see around 75% of the voters to support it. The page will be...
Actually the only person that crossed my mind that i thought would be able to replace Monte is Zeb Cook. However, i think, Zeb is more suited to the creative department (he was one of the creators of Planescape afterall) and not of the designing.
Do the polls give a correct measurment of what the dnd players want? And if not, how can wizard embrace the people who don't answer these polls?
These questions comes to my mind more and more the last weeks. I think that the polls that wizard posts give a distinct measurement of a large part of...
Am I the only here to think that this post created a division out of nowhere? I think it offered another subject for the edition war...
But maybe it's only my imagination...
