I run and i have played as a player adventure paths, i can see their merit but is not for me. I find em restricted. I prefer shorter stories, preferably one shot adventures that i can stich together according to my story.

Maybe they wait to publish the errata and probably minor modifications to the game and then sell the pdfs...

I would prefer that. Why not? They outsource the adventure paths. In the past they sold ips to 3rd parties. 3e Ravenloft material was quite decent in my opinion. Why should not outsource the other settings?
