    ELH from buy.com

I just got mine on Friday It took about a week between ordering and receiving it (and yes, I was charged $14.82!), so if it's been less than a week, be patient.

    Is Forgotten Realms worth it?

The only person who would know is you! I mean, who else can say whether a product is worth the money for them? After all, one product that's right for you can't be right for everyone else as well. For myself, I couldn't justify $40 for the FRCS hardback. So I paid $20 for it on eBay (really...

    What languages do you speak?

1.) Where do you live? (Country, community, etc. at whatever level of disclosure you feel comfortable.) Silicon Valley, California 2.) What is the primary language in your area? (...and is it a notably different dialect than its original?) English 3.) What languages do you speak? (...and...

    Cover other games?--- Err No

Keep the focus I agree with the ones who wish to keep this a d20 only site. I have no desire to see this turned into another RPG.net, and I'll probably quit visiting this site if it does.

Call of Cthulhu d20 not reprinted?

Re: Re: Re: Re: I have to chime in here This will be a 3rd edition of the Masks of N. The layout is out to Chaosium. They may decide to do it as an appendix, intersperse the text with the the regular CoC, or some third method. It will not be a free Chaosium download. The CoC Gamemaster's kit...

Call of Cthulhu d20 not reprinted?

Re: Re: I have to chime in here Sorry for the late reply. I was on vacation last week. Yes, it's an official version due at the end of the year. It's going through play-testing as we speak by two groups. The conversion is pretty beefy. It's got new spells, a couple of new weapons, and a few new...

    [OT] Advice/thoughts on New Zealand

New Zealand is an amazing country I spent 3 weeks there in 2000. In that time, I went cycling, backpacking (they call it tramping), kayaking, and river surfing. Everything outdoors related is so cheap there --- food, camping, etc, you can travel for months on a relatively small budget, once the...

What is your OTHER most favorite Hobby/Interest ?

Wow, I'm in the minority I just came back from a 5 day camping/cycling trip down the California Coast. I spend most of my time cycling, sailing, or hiking/backpacking, rather than indoors. I used to play wargames back when I was in my teens, but have given up on them. Now that my brothers are...

Call of Cthulhu d20 not reprinted?

I have to chime in here I'm a Chaosium free-lancer, so take this with whatever salt you need. Chaosium couldn't easily produce CoC d20 products until freelancers were available to write them. Freelancers (like me!) don't usually have access to pre-released material, so they don't have any more...

    Hero Fifth Edition

I'll second Psion's vote for DC Heroes RPG You can pick a copy up on eBay for less than $10, so it's heck of a lot cheaper than HERO. I think DC Heroes is a much better system for high powered play.

    What´s a 15th Lvl Commoner ?

How about someone from Glen Cook's novels? I'm thinking about Darling, the little girl general. Not much of a fighter, a strong tactician and strategist, mute, no magic herself, but with the strange talent of an anti-magic field around her and the loyalty of men who fought for her.

Besides the 3 core books, which sourcebooks/rules are you using in your campaign?

Core rules + 1. Psionics Handbook (only the monsters so far...) 2. Manual of the Planes (only the monstesrs...) 3. Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting (only the xp variant rules) I don't own splatbooks, so I individually approve feats, etc from the players who've bought them. So far, the players...

    Why Classless?!?

Re: Re: The real reason for class based systems... Depends on what you mean by well! Compared to Runequest, sure! Compared to D&D? No way. Like I said, go play Fantasy Hero or whatever superior system (like ICON or GURPS) you want. A few sessions of that will convince you that those systems...

    Why Classless?!?

The real reason for class based systems... ... is that point-based character creation systems don't sell anything worth beans. Compared to D&D, all the other point-based character creation systems judt don't sell well? Why? Unless your life is RPGs (in which case I feel sorry for you), you...

My conscience stopped me from submitting.

Just some persepective $120,000 is a lot of money for most game designers. So those of you who think that WoTC is getting a free ride from the every Tom, Dick, and Harry, are delusional. If every Tom, Dick and Harry was a great game designer, they'd be published by now. The stiffest...

My conscience stopped me from submitting.

I agree with Mongoose Matt If your goal is to become a professional writer, then I agree with him. You absolutely have to learn to write on demand, to whatever publisher wants if the publisher was willing to pay for your work. And the Wizards contest would be such an amazing launchpad for you...

[COC] Anyone get that Masks OF Nyanthrotep conversion done?

Masks cover It will likely have a new ISBN #, being a 3rd edition of Masks, and the d20 conversion will likely be prominently displayed as a feature, but I don't really know. I only write the material, and it's up to the publisher to figure out the rest. (Layout, cover, how to market it, etc)...

[COC] Anyone get that Masks OF Nyanthrotep conversion done?

Masks of Nyarlathotep Conversion I'm working on it. It's currently in play-testing with 2 gaming groups in the SF Bay Area. I expect to have the manuscript fully play-tested by October, and it should go to the printers end of the year. (This will be an appendix at the end of the next printing...

    Godlike D20

It's not a d20 game It's not really a d20 game. The OGL rules are sort of a wierd point based thing, from what I've read. I'm not into Godlike. If I really wanted superheroes, I'd pick up MEGS or dive into hero. If I wanted d20 compatible, I'd wait for a real d20 game.

Sneak Attack: A Little Too Powerful?

Mathematically, the rogue is balanced Over on Monte Cook's web-site, Monte Cook has written that the rules were designed so that even if the rogue got sneak attack on every round, the fighter would still on average do more damage every round. I've never seen a problem with the rogue in my 3E...
