    D&D 5E (2014) The Magical Martial

How? How do the rules fight cinematic play? Our group is mostly martial and I feel our characters perform cinematic actions on the regular. I can’t think of a rule that prevents us from doing that.
  2. Uni-the-Unicorn!

    D&D 5E (2014) The Magical Martial

This isn’t a discussion of martial vs caster balance or ability to do cool things. No need to turn it into that again, that is a different discussion
  3. Uni-the-Unicorn!

    D&D 5E (2014) The Magical Martial

No, it seems to me like you are not listening to what people are saying. Most of the discussion here hasn’t even been about rules or rule limitations. It has been about the limitations of is realistically possible

    D&D 5E (2014) The Magical Martial

And that is pretty horrible for game play i thonk
  5. Uni-the-Unicorn!

    D&D 5E (2014) The Magical Martial

It is easy enough to make bman succeed with the a similar frequency as in the comics if that is what you wnat

    D&D 5E (2014) The Magical Martial

No - I think everything they presented was pretty much by the book. Technically multiclassing is optional, but it is in the book
  7. Uni-the-Unicorn!

    D&D 5E (2014) The Magical Martial

If you look at the link, he’s considered possibly the strongest man of all time. That is about as good as you can get on a mundane level (for a generic strongman class - same as Hercules.) The point is to get stronger / more powerful than that you have to go beyond that level. You have to go...

    D&D 5E (2014) The Magical Martial

Me thinks it is you who is blind. In the example given the mountain and Hercules are essentially the same class if you will. But of much different power levels. One is clearly a mundane martial and the other is supernatural martial. They cannot balance each other by offering different skills...
  9. Uni-the-Unicorn!

D&D General If you were made president of D&D, what would you do?

No - I don’t care. I know the answer and don’t need to convince people of the truth. However, I am curious about why you don’t think they own outright: ravenloft, darksun, spelljammer, planescape, and the nentir vale. Those settings were created and only ever owned by TSR/WotC
  10. Uni-the-Unicorn!

D&D General If you were made president of D&D, what would you do?

Both Ed and Keith have said so. I don’t need to do your research for you. My statement is verifiable as the truth. I have no idea where you got your idea from, but it was clearly not authoritative.
  11. Uni-the-Unicorn!

D&D General If you were made president of D&D, what would you do?

Yes, but they were never settings owned or created by TSR/WOTC
  12. Uni-the-Unicorn!

D&D General If you were made president of D&D, what would you do?

IIRC, the Guild is a partnership between One and WotC. Though One runs it, but that is splitting hairs really. However, very few people make serious money on the Guild. There are handful of people that have made good money and only one that I can think of that continues to do so. Even Ed...
  13. Uni-the-Unicorn!

D&D General If you were made president of D&D, what would you do?

That is completely wrong, other than the part about pathfinder, which is irrelevant to this discussion. WotC gain ownership of all the settings that TSR owned when they bought the company and everything since. For example, TSR purchased the forgotten realms from Ed. WotC now owns that setting...
  14. Uni-the-Unicorn!

D&D General If you were made president of D&D, what would you do?

Just specific that you meant for creating and selling content, not for buying it. You can already buy content from all editions on the Guild.
  15. Uni-the-Unicorn!

D&D General If you were made president of D&D, what would you do?

Anything that TSR owned when WotC bought them (which is the vast majority), anything that WotC added (Eberron & Nentir Vale), and all MtG settings. Though if the premise these are different companies now, that last one could be in limbo.
  16. Uni-the-Unicorn!

D&D General If you were made president of D&D, what would you do?

I misunderstood your intent, you might want to clarify in your post. You can definitely buy all previous editions there from WOTC

  18. Uni-the-Unicorn!

D&D General If you were made president of D&D, what would you do?

To be clear the only edition missing now is 5e, so I don’t think this idea will kill OSR.
