    D&D General Maps on D&DBeyond

I feel that pen and paper is easier than a phone (rather than a tablet). There isn't reliable wifi at my table in the game store.

    D&D General Maps on D&DBeyond

I would really like the encounter tracker on the mobile app for DMing "At the table, with the mobile app". Still not there yet.

OD&D Keep on the Borderlands, some observations

I have the goodman games book, but I haven't run the wilderness exploration. I was thinking of putting a big hex grid over the map to make it less fiddly.

What is the single best science fiction novel of all time?

I'm not sure that you are alone. I found it a bit plodding and the Shrike part didn't jell for me. I read it a couple of years ago and it's fading from my memory.

What is the single best science fiction novel of all time?

I'm going to pull one from left field that most of you will never have heard of. The Tom Rynosseros saga by Terry Dowling. Set in a future Australia where western culture was in the decline and indigenous culture was in the ascendency. I've never read anything like it before or since. And it...

    D&D 5E (2024) Predictions for Playtest packet 7's arrival

In Australian English quite means large. For example, that was quite a stuff up or quite a dingle. Of course everything in Australian English can mean the opposite.

D&D 5E (2024) Are you going to buy the new 2024 D&D Core Books

Yes - I DM Adventurer's League, so I expect I will need to. Plus, I have lots of store credit from doing that DMing.

D&D 5E (2024) They need to bring back Gather Information in One DnD.

What would a gather information procedure give that is not included in the research downtime activity? A series of skill checks rather than one? Example or defined DCs?

D&D 5E (2014) Obojima: Tales from the Tall Grass

I wonder how it will mesh 5e with Studio Ghibli style adventures. It doesn't seem a natural fit.

D&D 5E (2014) 5E Lifetime Sales in North American Big Box Stores Revealed

Maybe players like to have access to the magic items?

D&D 5E (2024) They need to bring back Gather Information in One DnD.

I mentions both intelligence and charisma under that activity without seeming to prioritise either. There is a lot of DM's fiat though. Including the text for reference:

D&D 5E (2024) They need to bring back Gather Information in One DnD.

Isn't it covered my the 'research' downtime activity in the PHB?

The Final Open RPG Creator (ORC) License Is Here!

Would you consider a single monster stat or a poem to be a work? I would be happy to agree, but if you disagree it would be covered by 'other materials'. Can you consider a RPG as a collection? Frequently Asked Questions - Creative Commons It is more that it leaves it up to the Licencor to...

The Final Open RPG Creator (ORC) License Is Here!

I'm not sure I follow your logic. Licenced material doesn't have to be a 'work'. The licenced material can be a database or other material. That seems to cover a lot of ground. I'm also can't see why a 'work' can't be a component of another work (ie monster stats being a part of an adventure)...

D&D General Where do New DMs Go for Help Online?

I go: Sly Flourish Google searches EnWorld D&D Discord (for AL) I find that a lot of time, once I've formulated the question properly I have found the answer. :)

D&D 5E (2014) Glory of the Giants, Book of Many Things and the Phandelver Campaign have all been delayed, no new 5e content until mid-August.

This was new to me as well. So who does use astronomical seasons? I guess USA, but who else?

D&D 5E (2024) Jeremy Crawford: “We are releasing new editions of the books”
