D&D General “‘Scantily Clad and Well Proportioned’: Sexism and Gender Stereotyping in the Gaming Worlds of TSR and Dungeons & Dragons.”

This is a bit nick picky and I'm sorry for that. And, I have seen it come up a couple of times from other people, but... What is this whole thing about judging people by their marital status? On the whole I like this tread a whole lot better than some of the recent ones.

What are you reading in 2024?

Just finished the Eternal Flame by Greg Egan. It is the sequel to the Clockwork Rocket. This is set in an alternative universe with it's own physics. It explored some weird vector mathematics that my eyes glazed over on. I might have spent more time on the physics if it hadn't been so long...

The Lord of the Rings Roleplaying Added to D&D Beyond

It indicates they have improved the flexibility of the beyond platform. Adding classes was previously a big deal, but now they have added a lot in just a month.

What are you reading in 2024?

I went to a Con with both of them. Pratchett was great fun. Jordan did a book reading and I almost fell to sleep.

D&D Beyond Adds Illrigger Class from MCDM

I wonder if this means they have got rid of some of their tech debt and made progress on their 'general feature system'.

    D&D 5E (2024) No Appendix N Equivalent?

I couldn't find it in the 1981 black books.

    D&D 5E (2024) No Appendix N Equivalent?

I just don't get how a inspirational reading list limits your imagination. If it inspires you to read an author you haven't before, how is it limiting?

    D&D 5E (2024) No Appendix N Equivalent?

It did? I saw one on the traveller wiki, but I thought it was a fan one. Which edition had it?

    D&D 5E (2024) No Appendix N Equivalent?

The 2014 Players handbook and DMG both had inspirational reading sections. I have also seen them in other RPGs.

    D&D 5E (2024) No Appendix N Equivalent?

In my defence, I already have the 2014 inspirational lists. I do like the older books as well.

    D&D 5E (2024) No Appendix N Equivalent?

I've added it to my Goodreads 'want to read' list. Now 294 books long. Come to think of it, those inspirational reading lists from multiple sources is the reason it is so big.

    D&D 5E (2024) No Appendix N Equivalent?

I'm amused I just said the complete opposite.

    D&D 5E (2024) No Appendix N Equivalent?

I would like to see some inspirational sources that have come into existence since 2014. I was never a huge Fantasy reader and mostly read SF. So, it is nice to have some recommendations.

    D&D 5E (2024) No Appendix N Equivalent?

I think it is a shame.

D&D 5E (2024) Maps and the New DMG

I have the first one of those. It is great.

D&D 5E (2024) Kobold Press posts 2024 DMG Hit Piece

I haven't understood why this would be important. I heard people complaining when it was dropped from the UA, but didn't catch the reasoning.

What are you reading in 2024?

I started The Eternal Flame, the second in the series, yesterday. I love Greg Egan's novels. They then to be be fairly thinky in that physics and mathematical way. This series appears to have harder maths than some of his others (but I am sure it is optional).

What are you reading in 2024?

I recently finished rereading The Real Story by Stephen Donaldson. This is the first of the Gap Cycle. I think this series is the best of Donaldson's work (that I have read). It is like reading a Tarantino movie, but with space pirates.

D&D 5E (2024) Rules Clarification: Epic Boon at 19th Class Level or Total Character Level?

I had that. @Maxperson seemed to be saying you could get two epic feats without multclassing. That was the bit I couldn't see. Good summary BTW.

D&D 5E (2024) Rules Clarification: Epic Boon at 19th Class Level or Total Character Level?

I might have missed something, but can you explain the logic for this? The one you receive at 19th level seems obvious, but I don't understand how you get the second epic boon feat using a single class. Are you referring to 'bonus feats at level 20' (p43)?
