    Quitting a group & starting anew..ground rules?

And obviously there are a large number of gamers who would not tolerate being given a list of rules at the door which include not taking breaks. We should be tarred and feathered for feeling that would be insulting. Some? Why not all? I don't have a problem with asking questions - I have a...

    Quitting a group & starting anew..ground rules?

I don't mind abiding by the rules of my workplace. Of course, they reimburse me for my time. It bears repeating, since you are trying to support this by saying it is like work, but deflecting the connection by stating "D&D is not a job." If you believe that, then why are you arguing at all...

    Wizards not going to Origins???

I think the problem is oversaturation of the market. When Origins and GenCon were 2+ months apart, and in distant cities, it was obviously wise to attend both conventions as they were much more likely to have a different consumer base. Now you have the two biggest conventions, barely 30 days...

    Quitting a group & starting anew..ground rules?

I would never resort to such grade-school level tactics, and I would never even consider playing for a group that used these. Aside from the fact that the rules are ridiculously anal, any group having to stoop to this level clearly is so caught up in a DM vs. Player(s) struggle that it would...

    Metalheads! Confess & Brag

Confession: Yeah, I own every Duran Duran album... and the Power Station and Arcadia knock-offs too. :o Braggadocio: Maiden, Priest, Metallica, Queensrÿche, Megadeth, Scorpions, Van Halen, AC/DC, Ozzy, Sabbath, Raven, Deep Purple, Blue Öyster Cult, Quiet Riot, Leppard, Mötley Crüe, Saxon...

Would you buy a set of miniature stat cards?

Probably not - to me it's much more helpful to write down the stats myself. When I do that I rarely forget anything about the creature/spell/encounter. If I just relied on a cards, well, that's not much different from just having a book on hand.

Godzilla vs. Garyx, Falzure and Tiamat

Yeah, I have the original (with bad subtitles) too - haven't watched the Americanized version myself. I don't think I got the angry for not honoring them part - though it still doesn't explain the "recording" rocks part! And yes, he did go out of his way to purposely trample...

Godzilla vs. Garyx, Falzure and Tiamat

Didn't He-Man throw like a whole CITY into outer space on one episode? That's a pretty high STR score - I think OP would be in trouble...

does a nice, shy, meek guy have a chance in hell?

So, I'm curious fusangite - which side do you fall on? Are you self-confident or not?

does a nice, shy, meek guy have a chance in hell?

Well, that's less than helpful. Kind of like saying "my computer is broken" to a help desk technician, and that's the extent of the information you are willing to share, but you expect them to help you. :\

    Barnes & Noble's D&D Online Course

OK, I bit the bullet and signed up for this, even though I wouldn't call myself a beginner. I'm really intrigued by this approach, though. I'll try to post a review on EnWorld after the class, just to give my impressions of it. It should be interesting.

I must have missed the reference to the American one. Oh, wait... no I just remembered that part now. "They said it was Godzilla..." :)

Godzilla vs. Garyx, Falzure and Tiamat

Not as confusing as sea rocks acting as dvds... They are all considered "reboots" and each mythology cycle ignores the previous movies in the cycle (with All-Out.. even ignoring the current cycle was was taking place around it - kind of like Never Say Never in the Bond series.)...

Godzilla vs. Garyx, Falzure and Tiamat

It's kind of an homage to all the kaiju movies, in the vein of Destroy All Monsters. Aliens take over the earth and the monsters, with the exception of Godzilla who must save mankind. It features Manda, Rodan, Gigan, Anguirus, King Seesar, Hedorah, the American Godzilla, Kamacuras (the giant...

Godzilla vs. Garyx, Falzure and Tiamat

Not true. Godzilla 1985 took place after the original and it considered to be the same creature. It was later explained in this cycle that he possessed the ability to regenerate. That mythology cycle ran through Godzilla Vs. Destroyah, where he did indeed die, however the subsequent movies...

    WWE performer Eddie Guerrero dies

Truly terrible news this. Eddie was a consumate heel, and a heck of wrestler - he could match the best luchadors move for move any day. :(
