    D&D 5E (2014) PHB...finally!

That's a tough call, but I think I'd recommend the MM as well. The MM gives you tons of monsters plus the awesome flavor text that goes with each one (and the artwork too, of course). Just reading the descriptions will give you adventure ideas (much like the 2E Monstrous Manual did when I used...

    D&D 5E (2014) PHB...finally!

The book has great rules, fantastic artwork and style too. Best of all, it celebrates 40 years of D&D history by incorporating great ideas from just about every edition that came before it. If I had room on my bookshelf, I'd probably buy another one.

    D&D 5E (2014) PHB...finally!

Congrats man! I wanted to buy all the 5E stuff right away but I had to wait a bit too... I got my own PHB in December and then the rest of what I wanted in January and February. The 5E PHB really is one of the best PHBs for D&D ever made. Enjoy it and have fun!

Best products from the 4th edition era?

I just wanted to say that I ended up buying the Menzoberranzan: City of Intrigue book. I haven't read it all yet but what little I've seen is very good and the artwork and graphic design is top notch as well. I picked this book for two reasons... first, it's edition neutral so no 4E crunch...

Best products from the 4th edition era?

I have many DS pdf's from the 2e era. I wanted something in print form with lots of fluff in it, something more like the 3e FRCS.

Best products from the 4th edition era?

I was initially excited about the 4E Dark Sun setting book but I remember flipping through it at the store and thinking that it had way too much crunch to make it worth my while, so I skipped it and I'm glad I did. It's even doubly disappointing since I doubt we'll see a 5E DS setting. Oh...

D&D 5E (2014) Necromancer Games--What do you want us to make next?

I'd like to see an adventure that features a lot of social interaction. How about something like a group of PCs has to make their way into a Versailles themed palace and has to do things like pretend to be nobles, influence a certain noble faction, impress the king to gain his favor to get...

Best products from the 4th edition era?

Underdark sounds interesting as do the planes books. I flipped through the Neverwinter campaign setting yesterday at my FLGS and it seemed nice but also very full of 4E stat blocks.

Best products from the 4th edition era?

Sounds cool, I'm guessing it's a boxed set?

D&D 3.x What great third party 3E product did I miss?

Very true and I apologize for misreading the original post. I do love and recommend the Rappan Athuk dungeon.

D&D 5E (2014) How WotC will approach the campaign settings?

I feel the exact same way. Pdf's are not the same as a real book. They're great for quick reference but they have limitations.

D&D 3.x What great third party 3E product did I miss?

Some 3E books that I think are important and fun... and interesting to read. Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting - great book of the Realms in a single hardcover Unearthed Arcana - So many cool options. You'll never use them all but it's fun to think you might. Expanded Psionics Handbook - if...

Best products from the 4th edition era?

Were there any gems produced during the 4th Edition era that I should know about? I was thinking of maybe picking up another book or two if it has enough interesting fluff in it. All I have right now are the the three core books for 4th Edition, the DM screen, the Slaying Stone adventure and...

D&D 5E (2014) How WotC will approach the campaign settings?

I know... that shows you how much they care about it.

D&D 5E (2014) How WotC will approach the campaign settings?

Agreed, the Eberron update does look like it got typed up in a hurry without the slightest thought to presentation. I'm glad they put it out there but the way it looks doesn't inspire me with confidence that WotC will eventually take the time to produce a campaign book on any setting over the...

D&D 5E (2014) How WotC will approach the campaign settings?

I see Crawford's comment about the multiverse as a catchall statement that may not really mean much. I think it's just a way to say that WotC plans to publish adventures in a variety of settings over the next few years... this year, it's been the Realms so far. The one after Princes of the...

D&D 5E (2014) Light release schedule: More harm than good?

That's a good point. That would give 5th edition a ten year life cycle, which sounds about right even with their light release schedule strategy. Or, they might just release a 5th Edition Anniversary version of D&D with new covers or something. I guess it all depends on what happens between...

D&D 5E (2014) Light release schedule: More harm than good?

It's ironic that 5th Edition is one of the best, maybe even THE best, version of the Dungeons & Dragons game... yet, it may go down in history as the least supported one as well.

D&D Adventurers League Open Call for Designers

There used to be a bunch of 3E adventures on the WotC site that you could download for free. They should have had a few ready to go for the 5E launch to help people get into the game and keep playing the game. I guess their stuck on this Adventurer League thing though.

D&D 5E (2014) Reasons Why My Interest in 5e is Waning

I don't care about digital tools. PDFs would be nice but I'm not personally upset that they aren't currently available. However, I am concerned about the lack of new product for 5E. Over and over I read about how WotC wants to extend the life of 5th edition by avoiding splat. Honestly, I'm...
