RISE OF TIAMAT Now Available For Fantasy Grounds

Looks kinda cool but I'll never own any of this stuff because it's way to expensive... at least for me.

    D&D 5E (2014) Tiefling´s horns & tail

Anyone know why tieflings suddenly started having such big horns in 4th and 5th edition? I know you can have them look however you want in your games but I much prefer the smaller horned versions in the artwork of 2nd and 3rd edition. I had hoped that 5E would return to the original way...

    Psionics Coming Soon To D&D?

I just can't get too excited by the possibility of a future UA article on psionics that might eventually happen at some point. We won't see anything in print, if we see anything at all, until they're ready to publish an AP tied to psionics anyway. So, maybe Spring or Fall 2016? Mearls is...

D&D 5E (2014) Crystal Ball: A year in, how do you think 5E will unfold going forward?

I'd love to see a Manual of the Planes, 2-3 different campaign setting books, a couple more monster manuals and some short 32-64 page adventures. I don't see how any of that would cause bloat. But, we're not going to see any of those things or any other kind of splat books in 5E so the bloat...

D&D 5E (2014) Crystal Ball: A year in, how do you think 5E will unfold going forward?

I'd like an official account from WotC myself... wouldn't be that hard to do either, just publish a 1-3 page update on their website. An updated map of the FR would be great too. Thing is, WotC probably has the post-sundering realms all figured out at this point anyway so why not share it with us?

D&D 5E (2014) Crystal Ball: A year in, how do you think 5E will unfold going forward?

I'm done thinking we'll get campaign setting books or even additional monster manuals. The only think we can probably count on is one or two APs a year and that's it friends. Dragon+ will stick around for whatever that's worth. We might get conversion documents later on this year, but even...

    History of the Elemental Planes

The best article I've read on the WotC site in a long time.

    D&D Starter Set at Walmart

Cool to see D&D at Walmart. I actively look for the starter set in the Targets and Walmarts here in Colorado but I've never seen any... yet. As a boy, I originally got all of my 1E AD&D books at Toys R Us. I remember asking my dad to buy me one of the hardbacks or an adventure every time we...

    D&D 5E (2014) starter set at Walmart

    The Realms WILL Be Updated!

I want books and nothing but the books... hardcover preferably. Or a boxed set. Digital wiki or some such thing would just suck. I know it's not going to happen but I can still dream :)

Chris Perkins: Reintroducing Settings in Ways that Surprise People

Crawford said he's working on a new D&D book (of course, he can't say what it is). He did say "book" though. I guess that could be nothing more than the next AP but maybe not.

Chris Perkins: Reintroducing Settings in Ways that Surprise People

I just cancelled my preorder of PotA. I'm not sure I want the APs if they aren't going to be supported with traditional campaign setting books. I might consider buying it later on down the road after I get some more information from WotC about their future plans. For now, the core books are...

D&D 5E (2014) Convince me to keep reading Princes of the Apocalypse (*significant* spoilers. Also my players keep out)

People can play however they want. I just have a hard time seeing Conan running to a nearby town to get help instead of trying to deal with it himself. EDIT: Also, I think we can assume that PotA is written for a small group of PCs to be able to handle. So, they should be the one's saving...

D&D 5E (2014) Convince me to keep reading Princes of the Apocalypse (*significant* spoilers. Also my players keep out)

I see what you're saying, but I personally don't see it as an issue. I mean, no hero worth his salt is going to go running for help if he can save the day himself. If that's the case, then why bother playing the game? I could be wrong, but I don't think most DMs will see the proximity of Red...

D&D 5E (2014) Convince me to keep reading Princes of the Apocalypse (*significant* spoilers. Also my players keep out)

I have yet to read PotA but can't the PCs, in just about any adventure, just go ask for help instead of dealing with the issues themselves? That's boring. Unless the adventure takes place in another dimension or at sea or something, I don't see how that can be helped. However, I'm...

Chris Perkins: Reintroducing Settings in Ways that Surprise People

Agreed, these informal interviews give me no confidence for D&D's future. Here's an idea, how about some official statements about what WotC is working on instead of an occasional tweet that says, "No conversion docs for four months. Sorry!" Seriously, the silence from WotC borders on the...

    D&D 5E (2014) The 5E Art is Awesome

I really love the 5E art and think it's the best of any edition of D&D so far. I know a lot of people complain about how halflings look, they do look strange but that's sort of how I see them anyway, like weird, bizarre carnival freaks. The way I see it, halflings shouldn't necessarily look...

Chris Perkins: Reintroducing Settings in Ways that Surprise People

A social studies teacher who teaches world history must select topics from a wide range of events that occurred throughout human history. One way to teach such a course after you've picked out what you want to teach (say, industrial revolution for one unit) is to "zoom in" on that era by...
