    D&D 3.x Stooge-fu?

I would say damage from soft items like pies is non-lethal. No one is going to die from being hit by a pie, but it could stun you so you lose an action...

D&D General Setting Idea: Arcane Dyson Sphere

Sufficiently advanced magic is indistinguishable from technology.

D&D General Setting Idea: Arcane Dyson Sphere

It would only make sense if they had found the tools left behind by a more advanced civilisation and just fiddled around with them until they figured out where the ON switch was...

TSR The Making and Breaking of Deities & Demigods

If they made a new tome, what pantheons would you want added to it?

TSR The Making and Breaking of Deities & Demigods

What I would really like to see would be an update and expansion of the Historical Reference series with details on the different cultures' pantheons. Who couldn't use a reference book about the Celts and their gods with information about their customs and myths?

TSR The Making and Breaking of Deities & Demigods

So will we see another iteration of this tome for 5E? What pantheons would it have? Any fictitious ones, like the gods of Westeros? Maybe a voudou pantheon of loas? There are lots of possibilities...

D&D General Setting Idea: Arcane Dyson Sphere

If you want an example of a really large structure, take a look at the 2E setting Penumbra, the capital of the Illithid Empire.

    D&D 5E (2014) State of the mystic

It is not that different from the 2E D&D rules. You change the disciplines and add psionic combat. I really enjoyed the psionic combat rules from The Will & The Way, they created a strategic game within the game.

    D&D 5E (2014) State of the mystic

Take a look at the Star Wars d20 rules for Force users. It is just psionics with fewer schools. It is not spell-based, it is based on feats and skills, and it works pretty well. Update it and expand it with new fields like the 2E psionics disciplines, and you have psionics system that is not...

    D&D 5E (2014) State of the mystic

If that is all psionics is going to be, if they are not going to apply any more creativity than that, there is no point in doing it. What we need is a skill and feat based system like 2E had, so that it will simple and easy to use but distinguish itself from magic as a separate way to manipulate...

    Favourite D&D edition that’s not 5E

As I have said in other threads, 2E was the Golden Age of Campaign Settings and had the best psionics system I have seen in any edition of D&D, but 3E had a set of rules that really jelled and balance authenticity with ease of play. Feat chains and prestige classes added a lot of options for...

    Unseen, Subtle Magic

Remember, "subtle" does not have to mean weak. A spell that caused the annual average temperature in a single country to increase or decrease by one degree a year could irreparably damage a nation before anyone realized what was happening...

    Spells for Forensics and Investigation?

It has always seemed to me like there were not enough detection and location type spells, and more specialized types of divination are needed. I would like to see more people able to play casters that specialize in investigation or spying...

    Spells for Forensics and Investigation?

I am thinking a cantrip could reveal lost stains, the way luminol does. Another spell could reveal the face of the last person to touch an object like a weapon, showing the face on the object's surface. How about a spell that makes the wound that a person glow? Any other ideas? Please share...
